We had a very comfortable stay at the clean and conveniently located Fairfield Hartford/Manchester hotel. Our check-in was fast and efficient, and everyone was very friendly. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and had both a sitting area with a television, and a bedroom. The bathroom was also very clean with a great shower, and soft towels. We knew in advance that the pool was under repair, but when it is finished, it will be a very nice amenity. Our breakfast was wonderful--eggs, meat, cereal, fruit, juices, and other choices--very filling. Although the hotel charges a small fee for parking, our fee was waived, perhaps because we are Bonvoy members. We walked over to the mall next door and had a great time shopping, and grabbing a bite in the food court. We would certainly recommend this hotel for a reasonably priced option in the Connecticut Hartford area.

Worst experience ever. We checked in at 11:30 after waiting at the counter for a few minutes because the clerk was no where in sight. Elevator smelled like weed. Then, when we opened the door to our room, we could see drinks on the counter and bedding all over the floor and beds. Not knowing if it was occupied or just dirty, we did not enter any further. We left and went to another hotel. When I called the manager he said it was a glitch in the software. When I said if they inspected the rooms, he said no. Crappy hotel. Avoid it.

Absolutely pathetic. I had a reservation but when I showed up to check in at midnight my reservation had been cancelled by the hotel and they were full. Imagine traveling alone late at night in an area you don’t know and being told you have no place to stay. They eventually found a room for me at a Hampton Inn 20 minutes away. No explanation and no apology. Horrible. Never again.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. 2 of those nights, there was very loud music, and partying in the parking lot at 2:30 am. I did call the front desk, and said I thought it was disrespectful to other guests. Someone went outside both nights and it eventually stopped. I had to ask for more towels multiple times because they were short. The hot tub was not working, there was no sign to inform guests of this, nor were we told this at check- in. The hotel across the street looked quieter!

Absolutely miserable experience. Got in late on a Sunday. Wifi and TV were down. Not a huge deal, but annoying nonetheless. Our room had a huge bright light from the parking lot shining through the window all night with curtains that wouldn't close fully. Pool was closed for maintenance when we got in and most of Monday. Neither the tv/wifi issues nor the pool was noted on the website. Asked about TV and wifi at front desk Monday morning and was given a very huffy "nobody's TV is working". I get it must be annoying to be getting asked constantly but still. Monday morning we noticed that every five minutes or so the fridge would make this god awful high pitched squeal. It was one of those nails on a chalkboard type sounds that is like physically painful. Went to front desk to get a new room, which they did provide, and they threw in a bunch of free attitude and eye rolls! Got new keys, went to switch rooms and the new keys didn't work. Called down to front desk and was told they couldn't send someone up so we had to go down to get new keys again. Needed three which we ended up getting, but not without more attitude. No cream for the coffee in the lobby. No coffee in the lobby most of the time either. Front desk had a sign saying they were away helping a guest more often than not. Wifi got worked out sometime on Monday, but TV was down until Tuesday evening. From what another guest told me, it had been down since Saturday. I travel a lot and stay at Marriotts almost exclusively, but after this stay I probably won't be returning to another Marriott property.

I had stayed here in the past and it was a dated hotel. I had to stay in the area again and saw that we had a company rate of $79 a night and it looked like the hotel had been updated so I gave it another shot. I arrived at 5:14 on a Thursday and the young man at the reception was very nice and tried but was not trained. The woman sitting at the other PC at the desk never acknowledge me or assisted him. He literally ran through the hotel looking to get a status on my room while I waited. They did have a manager reception with free beer and cheese in the breakfast area so I had a beer. He returned and I went back to the desk and he remembered me. He gave me a room key announcing my room # out lout (a big no no) but I just took it and went to the room. The room was updated but the mirrors were dirty, there was hair in the shower an no bar of soap for the sink, just the shower gel in the shower. The towels were an odd mix, some were plusher than normal, others were thinner than normal. They room keys were also generic, not Marriott. Not sure if the Marriott license is about to expire??? Unable to connect to the internet and the internet functions of the TV were not working (Showtime and YouTube). Colleague had the same issue. Bed was comfortable. After checking out I received my folio via email and saw that I was overcharged. This lifetime titanium member most likely won't be staying a third time.

What a great experience! We were just beginning our two-week vacation and this hotel set the bar high. They even offered a manager's special that far exceeded our expectations. We were very pleased. Great location for restaurants and shopping. We want to single out Mary for her exceptional service and pleasant personality. Mary and Fairfield....you were both fantastic!!!!!

We stayed during the holiday. We had 2 reservations because we left overnight for a different trip, so we are able to review 2 rooms. We asked for top floor for the most quiet which depends if there are noisy guests. I could not hear the highway but the access road to the mall can be noisy but it ceases since the mall closes by 8 pm. Both beds were comfortable with a medium firmness. The place looks like it was refurbished within the past year with clean rugs and bathrooms had no issues. However both room sofas had some food stains. There is an indoor pool. The breakfast was OK and better than some hotels under the name brand. Plus plenty of coffee. The menu changes a little bit. For instance, oatmeal was not available when there were fewer guests. There are still enough offerings. Brittany was very helpful with check in.

I stayed 7 nights here, clean room, comfortable bed, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, quiet (except the week end) great location just in front (walking distance) of The Shoppes at Buckland Hills. Very rude check in with the girl that was on duty October Tuesday 19th (don’t know her name) but its ok i don’t see her until today that i announced my early check out tomorrow (she was very rude too). My only complain is the POOR cable service the hotel has, at least 10 of the 41 channels shows this message : “no signal or connection”

Stayed this past weekend. Totally mishandled my reservations when I had to make a change. Was told that the hotel was oversold and switched the days of my reservation. Lucky for us there was a cancellation Saturday morning and we were able to stay. Desk agent said she could figure out who screwed up just by our description. Emailed management group as well as area manager and still have not heard back. Travel tip- bring your own soap! Smallest soap I have ever seen. The size of a chiclet! There are other Marriott properties nearby as well as Hilton properties. They will get my business as I frequent this area often.
