I get up to this area to race at Limerock once or twice a year. One complaint most of us racers have is the pricing of hotels in the area. Lots of not that great places at $180+++ per night.
I read that this motel had been renovated, and a friend and I decided to split a room with two double beds for two nights. At the price, we figured it was worth it to not be camping or sleeping in my race car trailer.
The room had fresh carpets, bedding, paint and bathroom. Yeah, it's an old building and the layout is a bit funky and the shower is a bit small....but so what? This area is so beautiful, you shouldn't be staying around the hotel all day!
Hotel is approx 15 min from limerock....closer to the fly fishing outfits. Took about 15 min give or take to get home from the bar at the Falls Village Motel one night, and about 25 min or less to get back from the Woodlands Restaurant.
If you're in the area and looking to save a few bucks, you can't go wrong with this place.
This is a great find because we all know how expensive this area can be.
There are no perks or luxuries. The rooms are older but have all the basics: bed, bathroom, a/c, heater, tv, fridge and microwave.
If you come out to enjoy a good hike, skiing or town-hopping on a small budget give this place a try.
Tips:
- Get snacks and drinks to bring back to the room in the evenings.
- Ask for an extra blanket in cooler months
- Bring instant coffee. A great plus for the morning as there is a microwave
On the good side, nothing itches this morning and it is 7 minutes from Mt. Mohawk.
P.S. owner did not wear a mask when he checked me in.
I could go on. My husband wanted to sleep in the car. He was right.
I’d give this zero stars but the app won’t allow. In this case, it should.
