Detailed Reviews
The Cornwall Inn is a wonderful place to stop on Route 7 in Connecticut and enjoy old-fashioned New England hospitality. I had two stays recently and each room had a color theme, with many plush pillows, comforter, and curtains that complemented each other. The private bathroom provides a traveler with thick towels and any item needed for personal care. Cable TV and Wi-Fi were also available. The continental breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt, homemade granola, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, fresh pastry or coffee cake, and orange juice. The breakfast area was very country looking and overlooked the swimming pool for summertime use. Mark and Stacey are awesome innkeepers, and I highly recommend stopping at the Cornwall Inn!

My friend and I stayed in the "lodge" portion of the property. The rooms were very clean and with 2 queen sized beds, a touch on the small side but not unexpected. The beds were comfortable and each room had their own air conditioner / heater if needed. It is just a walk across the parking lot to the gathering portion of the Inn for breakfast or just to hang out with a beverage at night - which is always open. Breakfast was served 8ish to 9:45 and was buffet style. The location was very close to multiple Appalachian Trail trail heads and about 6-8 miles to multiple restaurants; about 10-20 mi to multiple microbreweries. Host & hostess were very welcoming, gave suggestions for dining and checking in and out was super easy at all times of the day.

My family and I stayed in room #4 (Grouse's Shoes) for 3 nights and it was wonderful. There are 4 of us and the room was cozy but clean and comfortable. The room could've used a dresser and some coat hooks but we made use of the space just fine. Covid precautions were impeccable with contact less check in if requested, masks worn in common areas, sanitizing stations, etc.. The breakfast was delicious with excellent coffee and homemade granola and fresh baked breads. In the evening there is a bottle of red wine put out where guests are welcome to 1 complimentary glass each or if you want more they also sell bottles to enjoy with your take out dinner or to relax by the fire. We bought our dog and even with the snow there was plenty for her to explore on our walks. We also went in the hot tub which was fun with all the snow around. The location can't be beat with 10 minutes to Mohawk mountain and 10 minutes into the charming town of Kent where we found some great restaurants and shops. Lastly, the owners were very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant stay. I'm looking forward to going back this winter again to ski and in the Spring/Summer to check out Kent Falls and wineries nearby.

My wife and I stayed recently at the Cornwall Inn while we were day hiking the nearby Appalachian Trail. At check out, we both wished we had more time to spend there. Our room was very comfortable, peaceful, and all the little things that make for a pleasant stay were taken care of. The inn has a hot tub and pool for relaxing after a long day’s hike, and there are Adirondack chairs on a hill in the large, green backyard— perfect for resting and reflection in the very quiet evenings in Cornwall. When you’re hungry, have a satisfying breakfast at the inn. For dinner, there are a variety of really good casual pubs and restaurants just a short drive away. Note for hikers: the inn offers a reasonably priced shuttle service to various AT access points.

My family and I just got back from a relaxing weekend and we all had a wonderful stay at this charming inn. This was our second time staying at The Cornwall Inn and this year we decided to book the 2 adjoining rooms (#5 & #6) and it made all the difference! Last year we stayed together in #4 which was nice but a bit cramped for myself, my husband, our 2 teen girls and our dog. I highly recommend getting the 2 rooms if you are traveling with a family. The rooms were clean, freshly painted, heat worked great, strong wifi (my girls loved that!), plenty of storage space and buttery soft bedding. We requested a fridge and coffee station in our room which was very useful and perfect for keeping leftovers/snacks and having tea/cocoa in the evening. The hot tub was a very nice treat after a long day of skiing and/or hiking. Stacey and Mark are the perfect hosts and really made us feel at home and were extremely helpful with restaurant and activity suggestions. Lastly the breakfasts were delicious! My family aren't big morning eaters so the light yet varied choices were perfect for us. The homemade granola, fresh baked breads and those sticky buns are what dreams are made of! Do yourself a favor a stay at this wonderful inn the next time you are in the area. We plan on coming back this summer to hike and lounge by the pool.

The perfect cozy Connecticut style vibes really cute!
The instructions to enter for late check in were clear and helpful.
the room was clean and bathroom was renovated everything worked.
Giant king size bed was so comfortable and blankets were warm -you can tell they didn’t cheap out on the pillows.
the owners are very personable and make you truly feel like you’re the only one staying in their home.
Even though it was a simple grab and go kind of meal—the breakfast in the morning OVER EXCEEDED expectations for a fast meal like that—-the banana bread tasted fresh made (wouldn’t be shocked if it was) my friend and I were losing our minds over the homemade granola.
Coming back whenever I need to be in the area again...too bad it’s kind of in the middle of nowhere but there is a little town nearby and Mowhawk ski slopes which this hotel is perfect for.

At the Cornwall Inn, Stacey and Mark have accomplished the innkeepers' alchemy - they have created a welcoming, relaxed, and homey atmosphere one expects at a New England roadside inn yet the bedrooms, baths and breakfast area are as clean, sanitary, efficient and well-appointed as any national chain. We had as much privacy as we needed, yet when we needed something special from our hosts (sending a fax, printing out a label) Stacey and Mark were eager to help us solve our issue. Although it was a family wedding which brought us to Cornwall Inn this time, we'd love to return someday and spend more time visiting with our new friends Stacey and Mark.

We stayed in Periwinkle Pastime, which is a spacious room upstairs. We had to leave really early one morning to get to the airport and Mark and Stacey kindly packed us delicious breakfasts to take with us. We enjoyed the complimentary wine on the lovely porch one evening, and the convenient location to several outdoor scenic places we wanted to visit on the Housatonic River.

Such a quaint Inn with a cabin feel. Rooms are not large but perfect for an overnight stay while visiting the area. Room was cool as it was colder out, radiant electric heater available for extra warmth worked perfect. Little bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and face soap provided. Continental breakfast was cereal, milk, juice, hard boiled eggs, homemade blueberry cobbler and challah bread, butter/preserves, yogurt, homemade granola, coffee, and tea. It was all very good and plenty to start the day. Would definitely stay again.

Nice place to stay. The room was very clean and quiet, with parking right outside our door for easy access to our car. A light breakfast was available, including yummy, home-made breads and granola. Kent Falls State Park is right down the street, and Kent is only a few miles away. I would definitely stay here again!
