We arrived on a snowy evening and we're delighted to check into this cozy inn. Not a fancy place, but very affordable with a hearty breakfast included. Cute furniture with a comfortable bed. The center guest lounge offers hot drink service and seating. I'd recommend dinner at the onsite restaurant. A visit in December is a perfect Christmas treat with...

I pulled into town late at night and first considered going to the best Western, but then thought it would be nice to support a local business. I called the number on the door and the gal woke up for me and got me into a room in no time. Prices were good. The stairs were a bit creaky, and...

Because of a snow storm, we had to find lodging in tiny Walsenburg, Colorado. La Plaza Inn was a charming surprise! This building has been a hotel since 1907, but the rooms have been restored with private baths. Our suite had a day bed, desk, and television in one room, with a king bed in a separate room with a...

Stayed for only one night during my travels in CO. Lovely B&B built in 1907 and refurbished by owners from 2010. Extremely nice guy working bar who handled my check in. Great little bar, library cafe and lobby. Very comfortable room. Was able to look at some of the other rooms that were suites & had kitchens. Free wifi that...

When you're out traveling across the country, you don't usually expect to be befriended. But we were right there in Walsenburg at La Plaza Hotel/Restaurant. It was the most wonderful experience. We arrived about 11:30 AM and entered the Hotel Entrance and were taken aback with the restored Lobby of the hotel; Front Desk and all. We were more or...

I'll start out by saying, I'm a bit of a travel prima donna - I don't stay in motels or B&Bs and prefer 4.5 stars or higher. Keep that in mind when reading this review. I knew that finding a 4+ star hotel was going to be difficult in the Spanish Peaks area given that I could barely find a...

Unfortunately, because we made our reservation through Hotels.com, we did not get to stay here. Never go through Hotels.com. Call the hotel directly. LaPlaza was totally booked and had never received a request from hotels.com. The owner was so gracious and apologetic. LaPlaza appeared to be a charming place to stay with a great restaurant.

Rating 3.5 This is a historic Inn located at the gateway to the breathtaking Spanish Peaks region of Colorado. The Inn has no curb appeal, but inside there is a charming Victorian Lobby with a wooden crafted bar, and each guest room has a unique floor plan, with time period furniture. The bathroom are clean but small. The owner is...

We stayed at this inn for one night May 2015. We used two separate rooms, one room for my husband and I, and another room for his mother. We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were nice and each had its own 'personality.' We were comfortable and the inn was quaint enough to make it memorable, but clean, comfortable, and nicely...

We traveled from Canon City to attend a music venue in Walsenburg, and wanted a place to stay. Our friend, Tom Nye, owner of Sarti's bar booked us in this quaint Inn. We had a great dinner at the Inn. Very nice atmosphere among antiques and period pieces of art. Our room was #11, queen beds in separate room with...
