We stay at the Ptarmigan Inn every ski trip. Despite the age of the building the overall experience is excellent. The management and staff could not be better, and it is the best ski-in ski-out hotel on the mountain.
Comfortable room, although they had to move us rooms due to the toilet not working in our original room, the staff was quick to solve the problem. The beds were comfy, and the mini fridge in the room was great.
We just completed a week long vacation to Steamboat Springs. The skiing and snow were the most ideal I've ever experienced. The hotel was old dated but clean The staff was upbeat and helpful. The restaurant was no big deal but the New Years special...More

Thank you for the questions and answers. To be clear The Ptarmigan Inn offers a seasonal full service restaurant during ski season serving breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner daily.
Outside of ski season, summer and fall, the Snowbird Restaurant is closed but the hotel offers a traditional continental breakfast. The items include cereal, doughnuts, pastries, cinnamon rolls, pop tarts, oatmeal, granola bars, fruit, bagels, toast, English muffins, orange juice, milk, coffee and tea.
The hotel's goal is to always be transparent about what's offered and we sincerely apologize if "continental breakfast" is miss-leading. For clarity the definition follows:
con·ti·nen·tal break·fast. [ˌkän(t)əˈnen(t)l ˈbrekfəst]
NOUN
a light breakfast, typically consisting of coffee and rolls with butter and jam.
Please feel free to contact the hotel general manager anytime to discuss further. Thank you again for asking the question and to those who contributed to this forum.
