It's a little drive outside of town, beautiful trip and probably a good idea to have chains or 4wd as suggested during the Winter. We went the day after Thanksgiving. Bring boots or shoes that have some traction. The area around the pools gets slick! There is a small changing area as well. Not easy to navigate for anyone with...

We spent a weekend in Steamboat Springs and visited the Strawberry hot springs. This is a natural spring along a river in a remote area. There are several pools at mildly different temperatures around 104 degrees. Also a cold water pool as well. The facility is basic but truly outstanding in how they have developed the area. We spent a...

My boyfriend and I followed GPS up a winding, unpaved road in a compact car that hated inclines. Just when I was about to call it quits, we saw signs of human life. We parked and walked through 38 degree Fahrenheit weather to the little booth to pay our entry fee for the night. Some might think that's crazy--38 degrees...

BRING CASH - After a beautiful fall drive we arrived at the perfect time to get in the pools for sunset. The attendant informed us ONLY CASH and check were accepted and that it would be a 40 minute round trip back to town. We did not deviate from our plan. It was totally worth the drive back. We had...

My husband and I visited the hot springs in early September. We arrived on a Wednesday and stayed one night in tent site 4. We arrived a bit later than we intended (the drive through the mountains from Co. Springs is gorgeous in its own right!) and setup our tent as the sun fell below the mountains. We had a...

This is a hard place to figure out. The only sense I can make of Strawberry Hot Springs is to assume that the owners hate you. I mean, you can stay in a picturesque rustic cabin, but there isn't any place to store anything except on the floor. And there's a huge nest of yellow jackets living in the roof....

Stayed in a rustic cabin at the top of the hill from the springs. It was October, so the air was cool----The steam was evident from the hot springs. The small cabin was quaint. You do have to utilize the public showers/washrooms-so keep that in mind. The little gas heater in the mini cabin was sufficient. (and snuggling with your...

There are people reviewing the springs themselves here. This category is a review for the LODGING. There is another place to review the springs as an attraction. I actually stayed here, so I am going to review the lodging. These people have zero customer service skills. They are raking in the dough and have NO incentive to be nice. They...

This was (I thought) a very unusual place to visit. There are several pools and each has a different temperature. One was really, really warm. It's a little difficult to get down to it, but it's well worth it. I was achy and sore from all the activities in Colorado. Woke up the next morning totally refreshed and ache free....

Arrive at 10 am opening to have place to sit. Dirt road uphill. Walking stairs & uphill downhill required. Very natural settings. Tip:cash or check only! NO Credit cards! We wore rubber sole flip flops in pools. Can be slippery-use hand rails. Cool place overall. Warm pools felt great. Some algae but clear water! We loved it. No food allowed...
