We booked a Premium Terracehouse condo through Hyatt for our family vacation. Because we booked it through Hyatt instead of through an owner site (Air BNB), we had hoped that the the standards would be high for cleanliness and being up to date. Unfortunately, despite the convenient ski in and ski out location, everything about the unit was absolutely disgusting - and it ruined our vacation. We our vacation condo owners ourselves, and so we understand what it takes to keep a rental unit in good working condition - and Hyatt should be embarrassed for renting Unit 63 to good paying customers. This unit should be removed from the rental pool immediately, and the owners need to invest significantly to get this to a renting standard. - The entire unit had a punky, moldy smell to it - The living room furniture was ripped, worn out, stained all over, and the couch had a terrible smell - There were large, dark, sticky stains on the carpet all over the living room - The kitchen was woefully under furnished. It was missing a large pot for pasta, can openers, knives, and type of serving dishes, baking dishes, and basic utensils - The bathroom tiles, especially in the showers, were covered in mold - The mattresses in the twin beds were so old and worn, that you would literally hit the frame of the bed. It absolutely ruined our backs for our ski vacation…
The unit is very large compared to other similarly priced units in other nearby properties. Everything was clean and well maintained - except the water heater. Something was wrong with it, although I cannot tell you what. It is a 50 gallon tank water heater, and only provided about 3 - 4 minutes of hot water in the shower. Completely unacceptable, but nothing could be done during our 5 night stay. You can imagine how frustrating the situation was for our family (husband, wife, two daughters) to have to take super-quick showers, and then wait at least half an hour before someone else could take their super-quick shower. Our oldest daughter has long, thick hair and had to get out of the freezing cold shower before she could finish rinsing shampoo out of her hair, wait 40 minutes, and the get back in to rinse her hair in a rush. Just awful, because everything else about the unit was great.…
The unit we stayed at was at the top of the Terrace House, on the top floor. The hike with luggage when we arrived as well as the stairs up to the unit made it difficult with 3 children. In the unit, the bunk bed had a huge gap that was unsafe. If booking through AirBnB or VRBO, no room service or additional supplies were offered. Not even coffee filters were found in the unit. The laundry room was great. The condo was clean enough. Lots of dishes, seating, etc. TV kept glitching, fridge leaked and doorknob didn't work (but did get fixed). The bed was great!
The good: -Location was pretty good, almost ski in / ski out (in reality it's a block away from the slopes) which was not bad - the hot tub was a nice touch - convenient location: bus stop right outside, close to upper and lower village malls - front desk was friendly and helpful - great kitchen well stocked with everything we needed in terms of utensil, pots, pans, plates, etc. The bad: - for being a condo rental, it had absolutely no condiments (is..salt, pepper, sugar, spices, dish sponge) that guests would otherwise leave behind or other kitchen items useful for people that cook there. Not the typical condo experience. - parking is $12/day, other lodging condos had parking included - condo dated with inadequate storage in bedrooms, only half closet available in master bedroom and no place to put clothes on at night -small living room with little space for even 4 people - no heat in bathrooms, making tiled floors freezing to walk on - dated bathrooms and tiny master bath - virtually no housekeeping for the week other than replacement of towels and kitchen trash removal every other day. - no cleaning or sanitizing supplies either on top of no housekeeping at - dirty and stained carpet throughout - pull out couch very hard to sleep on and falling apart For paying $4-5k per week the first week of January, the value paid vs the value of the amenities was very high. Will not return to Hyatt Destination Hotels. Better off with private owners / Airbnb.…
I am thrilled with Terrance House - we walk to the snow slopes and gondolas, it's right next to the restaurant and shops, hot outdoor spa pool, excellent condominium style room design and amenities, super friendly staff! We didn't have to use our rental car for the whole stay as it was close to all the fun stuff by foot! Epic scenery since we visited in winter..woke up to a winter wonderland! JUST PHENOMENAL!!!!!!
We chose to get away this thanksgiving instead of staying back home with family and had the best time we've had in the last 5 years. The property was amazing and the views were even better. We brought everything we needed to make our own Thanksgiving dinner and it was perfect! Our unit was so cozy and comfortable we never left it for the entire 4 days we were there. We did miss the opportunity to shop in the little Snowmass Mall but we were perfectly fine with it until next time. Our expectations were definitely met and we will be returning for more stays to come.
No parking nearby, lots are either a walk up or walk down from condos. Not ideal for older family members or those with young children. Aside from parking, our water also did not work in one of the bathrooms of our 2br2ba which was a huge inconvenience. I would also check what is open if you are staying between seasons. The village had one restaurant open in October.
Good location, five minute walk to shops and restaurants, nice pool and hot tub. Helpful serbvie staf and clean accommodations. Easy access to village, base camp and Aspen by free and frequent bus service. Ample free parking near unit.
Awesome Condo! Short walk to slopes. Best hot tub on the mountain is just steps away. Close to restaurants and activities. You don't need a car... shuttles will take you around the village or over to Aspen, Buttermilk, or Highlands Mountains. We will be back!!!!
Our first time at Snowmass and booking though the resort central lodging. Booked "Perfect Storm" package that included lodging discount and bonus lift tickets. Check-in at the next door Stonebridge Inn was very smooth with lift tickets, parking passes, discount coupons, and area information all ready and waiting for us. The unit was clean and comfortable, and despite some stairs to climb, was perfectly located for skiing (short walk), parking (across the street), and village shops (short walk). The Inn also has a comfortable bar/lounge with happy hour specials, and a restaurant if you don't care to go out. Each condo unit is individually furnished and decorated. We appreciated the gas fireplace and plentiful hot water for showers, but felt our particular unit could use some updating. Regardless, the stay was very enjoyable and we encountered no significant issues.…
