This is our second visit to High Country. Both times we've stayed in a cabin which we really enjoy. I've not seen the lodge rooms so I can't comment on them. We booked a stay in a large bedroom which fit up to 6 people. There were 3 of us so we each got a bed or sofa in my daughter's case. Her sofa was really hard but it didn't bother her. Our cabin was roomy enough -bathroom a bit small - but hotels sometimes aren't much better. The front desk personnel were all really nice, especially Jessica who called us earlier in the day and welcomed our upcoming visit. The owners were very nice too. We say them out on the property and they were very welcoming too. Due to the pandemic, the breakfast was a grab and go bag. The burritos could sure use an update. Once you opened them up, the tortillas dried out right away. But they did give us fruit, water, a sweet and either the burrito (sausage and egg) or a cold yogurt. Property is really nice. The floors are heated in the cabins and have a wood fireplace that can be used during the winter. There is a good sized pond. Beautiful view of the mountains from our front porch. We were able to cook out on a grill one night. Kitchen has enough dishes, cutlery and pans to make it easy to cook our own meals as desired. And perfect weather. We will go again, maybe next time in the fall.

One of the best places to stay in Pagosa Springs. The property is beautiful with great amenities and wonderful staff. They go out of their way to take care of you. We loved the comfortable cabin and the friendly service we received. We will definitely be back. The snow tubing hill is a blast.

As far as we could tell there was only one other room with guests, so very quiet. The night was in the 20s but we went to the hot tub which had an incredible view of the later winter stars. The trucks on the highway were on the loud side, but we travel with ear plugs. Staff was wonderful.

This cabin was recommended by family and friends. They did not disappoint. Location: located a hop skip and a jump from downtown Pagosa Springs. It’s a 10 - 15 min drive to Treasure Falls and a 20 - 30 min drive to Wolf Creek. Place: we rented a cabin #404...it was perfect for what we wanted. It had a kitchenette with all the utensils and cookware. The hot tubs where great! Although the tube hill was closed they still allowed us to use there sleds free of charge and slide down the hill with the remaining snow. We never had the breakfast so I won’t leave a comment at all. The fact that they still provided a breakfast should be a selling point. They had a fully stocked bar which was good after a long day of sight seeing. Check in was fast and easy as was checkout. The only suggestion I would ask HCL to do is move the TP!!! At least in 404 it was way behind you so you had to reach way back...all in all we will come back for sure!! This is a great place and you will not be disappointed!!! Great job HCL!!!

It was a nice cabin to have as a base camp for our ski trip. It was clean, warm, and quiet. The futon sucked as a couch, and I can't imagine sleeping on it. My son liked sledding the hill behind the cabin, and the complimentary games and video came in handy during the evenings. Breakfast was kinda blah, but most are during the pandemic.
