On the road headed back home we were looking for a pet friendly hotel. This one claimed to be pet friendly. We got charged 25 dollars per a dog we have 2 bulldogs. We were told to only use the entrance that was at the far side of the building and was given a room as far away as possible. We were told to put pet blankets over the beds. So far ok that's fine but they have 0 pet amenities the closest place to take them to the bathroom is a park 2 blocks away. It's one thing to claim to take pets but it's another to have the proper amenities for them and to not be treated as a burden especially after paying extra fees.
The Blue Spruce Inn is by far the best hotel in the Meeker area. It's basically a slightly older Best Western, Holiday Inn Express or maybe Fairfield Inn but locally branded and run. Everything was clean, in working order, and comfortable. Staff were friendly. The complimentary breakfast was basic but fine with something for everyone. Hot coffee at 6 a.m. is appreciated. With that said, some things could be updated: 1) The front desk clerks at check-in and check-out were not wearing masks. At check-in, she was coughing and not washing her hands afterward. 2) Shower is complicated. If your shower requires a sign for instructions then you need a simpler bathroom. 3) TV is old and small. Could barely see it from the bed. 4) Refrigerator is unplugged between guests, which makes it effectively worthless. 5) No local newspaper or local information in guest rooms. 6) Update guest room decor as it doesn't really match the lobby nor what you expect. Some of the room looks out-of-place as if it was bought from a hotel liquidator. It doesn't really match the Blue Spruce Inn brand or the outdoors vibe of Meeker. It reminds me of a business or airport hotel from 2003-2008. 7) Some or all of the first-floor rooms are partially accessible through individual doorways at the parking lot levels. That's somewhat unusual in this day and age, especially considering the building is not an old, single-story motel. I don't like it from a security standpoint. Also, the windows are not tinted and you can see guests naked and doing whatever from the parking lot. All things considered, I would totally stay here again not least because there aren't many options in the Meeker area.…
The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We were on a 2 week vacation but I had mistakenly canceled my reservation. When I arrived and we realized this, the staff tried to help me find another hotel. They called many hotels for me, But, someone canceled so I was able to stay. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. In spite of Covid-19, there was breakfast. We also used the washer and dryer - and our clothes didn’t shrink! I would definitely stay here again!
I randomly went for a drive to enjoy the fall colors and needed a place to stay. I was very, pleasantly surprised. Seems to have been recently remodeled, everything was very nice and clean. Great breakfast with both hot and cold items. It was a fair rate, especially considering I had my dog with me. The fitness room looked really nice, as well. I would stay here again. Oh, and a very friendly staff!
Booked a room on Expedia in another town and did not realize that this inn was in a town 50 miles away! Well by the time I arrived I was not in a great mood. All of that changed when I pulled up to the Blue Spruce Inn. The young lady who checked me in was very sweet. The room was very nice and well appointed. Bed comfortable, and THE BEST Shower ever! The morning breakfast was great. So I walked in mad and walked out with a wonderful experience.
