We had lunch at the Veranda Restaurant. Beautiful, relaxing spot with excellent service and food. We took time to visit the photos depicting the history of the hotel and dound it interesting. If we return to that area we would stay there.

Four years ago when visiting Manitou Springs, we chose The Cliff House, sight unseen but based on its website and Tripadvisor reviews. We stayed six days and loved it (and wrote the review). When returning to Manitou this month (for four nights), there was not a second of doubt as to where we would stay. Last trip we stayed in...

Good Day and thank you for your wonderful review. As you mentioned you did see workmen bringing in some new carpet, we are infact in the midst of renovating our bathrooms and trying to update the furnishings in the room. It is a work in progress, as we are only able to do one room at a time with the...

We had a spacious room on the third floor overlooking the corner near the post office. There was a sitting area, fireplace, desk and very comfortable bed. The bathroom was large, with a wonderful jacuzzi tub. Breakfast in the dining room was quite good and the service was attentive. The location is right next to the downtown area shops and...

The pictures make this old style hotel look quite nice and inviting, but I was disappointed with our tiny (expensive) room with no view. I also anticipated sitting on the front porch looking out at Pike's Peak, but it was not to be found amidst the street and downtown buildings in front of the hotel. They also tagged on a...

This is a historic four diamond hotel. The rooms are beautifully restored with modern conveniences. Towel warmer, steam shower, etc. it is hard to get a king bed due to the size of the rooms. Being a four diamond, it is not cheap and they charge resort fees and parking fees. An excellent breakfast does come with the room.

This is probably the nicest hotel in Manitou Springs. I would say it's a 4 star hotel. We went for our anniversary and it was very cute. It's very romantic and the garden out front was beautiful. Within a few minutes walking distance of the main street in Manitou Springs. The jetted bathtub was great and the AC kept the...

We spent just one night at The Cliff House, to break our journey from Santa Fe to Denver Airport. It turned out to be a night to remember. On arrival we were informed that our standard room had been upgraded to the Thomas Edison Suite, an elegant room with en suite bathroom on the top floor of this impressive Victorian...

While enjoying a trip to the shops in Manitou Springs, we stopped for lunch at the Cliff House. The lunch was ordered from a small, but varied assortment of salads and sandwiches. The food was prepared to perfection. We enjoyed it so much that we came back for "3'o'clock" desert. The staff was attentive and made sure we enjoyed our...

A traditional hotel with loads of history. This was our treat for the last 3 nights of our Colrado holiday. Renovated relatively recently and in excellent decorative order. We would describe it as 4-star with some 5-star features - particularly the restaurant which has a superb menu, quite European in style, uniformed waiters and impeccable service. So good, we ate...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
What makes a hotel truly special?Prestige? Romance? Luxury? As a four diamond Colorado Springs Hotel, these attributes are very important, and we have each of them in abundance, but none of them matter as much as... the stories. The stories that are started here, by brides and grooms celebrating their weddings. The stories that are commemorated here, when couples choose us for their anniversaries. The stories that are shared here, when family vacations become unforgettable memories. Our stories really do matter: they define who we are. You see, as the premier historic hotel of the Greater Colorado Springs area, our history is forever intertwined with what we are today. In fact, The Cliff House is older than the State of Colorado itself! And just like your story, we have had our ups and downs: we have played host to famous dignitaries, and we have been a barracks for soldiers. Later floods and fires have even threatened our hotel's very existence. But, just like you, we've persevered. After our extensive remodel and grand re-opening in 1999, we quickly proved that The Cliff House is once again one of Colorado's finest luxury hotels. Nestled at the foot of majestic Pikes Peak, we've managed to keep all the trappings of Victorian elegance and luxury and also become a leader in innovative room features with state-of-the-art technology. Since 2001, we've consecutively received the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award for both the hotel and our dining room. Our dining room has also received the DiRoNa Award, and Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence, every year. From our world-class fine dining, our amazing rooms, personalized service, our fun new bar and grill, to the limitless experiences and activities Manitou Springs has to offer: we are confident that you will love your stay here... and what a story you'll have to tell! We're proud of our history. Come share yours with us! We're within ten minutes of downtown Colorado Springs, but (rest assured) a world away! ... more   less
