We love staying in hotels that aren't just another wannabe, that are unique to the area, yet offer a high level of comfort and hospitality. This hotel fits that description very well. The staff were very friendly, very accommodating, and the unique history of this hotel is very fascinating. The bed in our Junior suite was extremely comfortable, we had...

This hotel is absolutely amazing. The view from the front is to die for. The room we stayed in was well-sized, extremely comfortable, and even had a heated toilet seat!!! The staff was friendly, helpful, and eager to serve. The bar tender was friendly and knowledgable. The breakfast is TO-DIE-FOR! Hands down the best "continental" (if you can even call...

We came to this hotel to celebrate a birthday, and it was definitely worth the price. The room was very cool, and was clearly a historic room, but upgraded with modern amenities. Bed was very comfortable, and the staff was very friendly.

I have never written a review before yet read them always before making reservations. My husband booked the reservation as a surprise for my birthday (not to be confused with the most recent review :-). On arrival the hotel upgraded us to the beautiful Roosevelt Suite and left Happy Birthday wishes alongside the flowers that my husband ordered. Dinner in...

I surprised my wife with a stay there for her birthday. Friendly service, beautiful and comfortable room, a great setting the heart of Manitou. We stayed during the Christmas season, which was especially nice. Both the hotel and the town were festively decorated. Highly recommend!

Stayed here a week on business and the hotel was really beautiful. The room was nice and spacious. It had a large bathroom with spa tub and a gas fireplace in the bedroom. Every night there was a turn down service that provided a nice piece of chocolate and an interesting fact about the hotel. The service was top notch....

As with so many of these heritage hotels, built over a hundred years ago, there is a tendency for the management to rest on what they perceive as their laurels. I stayed in this hotel at Thanksgiving 2016 and I found the general atmosphere was lacking management supervision. My room was adequate but not clean. I found the staff and...

Apparently every room at this hotel has a different theme. We must have been in the best one! Our Thomas Edison room was a spacious and well-appointed suite on the top floor with a huge television, a jacuzzi tub, a jet shower, a fireplace in the corner... lots of touches to make for a comfortable, relaxing stay. And it was...

Our room at The Cliff House was lovely and we received a warm welcome also. It was nice to get an upgraded room with a huge Jacuzzi tub, heated toilet seat, double sinks, storage in the clean, well appointed bathroom with warm robes to curl up in front of the gas fireplace. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
What makes a hotel truly special?Prestige? Romance? Luxury? As a four diamond Colorado Springs Hotel, these attributes are very important, and we have each of them in abundance, but none of them matter as much as... the stories. The stories that are started here, by brides and grooms celebrating their weddings. The stories that are commemorated here, when couples choose us for their anniversaries. The stories that are shared here, when family vacations become unforgettable memories. Our stories really do matter: they define who we are. You see, as the premier historic hotel of the Greater Colorado Springs area, our history is forever intertwined with what we are today. In fact, The Cliff House is older than the State of Colorado itself! And just like your story, we have had our ups and downs: we have played host to famous dignitaries, and we have been a barracks for soldiers. Later floods and fires have even threatened our hotel's very existence. But, just like you, we've persevered. After our extensive remodel and grand re-opening in 1999, we quickly proved that The Cliff House is once again one of Colorado's finest luxury hotels. Nestled at the foot of majestic Pikes Peak, we've managed to keep all the trappings of Victorian elegance and luxury and also become a leader in innovative room features with state-of-the-art technology. Since 2001, we've consecutively received the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award for both the hotel and our dining room. Our dining room has also received the DiRoNa Award, and Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence, every year. From our world-class fine dining, our amazing rooms, personalized service, our fun new bar and grill, to the limitless experiences and activities Manitou Springs has to offer: we are confident that you will love your stay here... and what a story you'll have to tell! We're proud of our history. Come share yours with us! We're within ten minutes of downtown Colorado Springs, but (rest assured) a world away! ... more   less
