I’d really like to give a big THANK YOU to Tisha Kekumu-Beattie who went above and beyond to make our stay “one for the books”! I live in Pagosa Springs and am having construction done on my home here. My contractor suggested I take my 91 yr old mom away for couple days as they were spraying insulation and he was concerned the odor would effect her breathing ( she’s on oxygen) Since I’ve stayed at Sky Ute Casino Resort before I booked a couple rooms. Once there I mentioned our rooms must be joined as my sister and I needed to have access to mom always. Tish and her assistant Jane Burke went above and beyond to get us all situated in a beautiful suite with adjoining room, it was fabulous! These ladies and the rest of the associates there at Sky Ute made us all feel so comfy, welcome and cared for, we were truly humbled. Thank you all so very much, we’ll see you again in November.

We stayed overnight so we could attend a basketball tournament. I had not stayed there before though my mom wanted to see the casino. Our stay was great and I wished we could have stayed another night. The rooms were clean and our non-smoking room had no smoke smell (sometimes with a smokey casino, people bring the smoke with them). It was a large room with great price. The best part, the rooms were quiet. I mean, you literally could not hear occupants around you, in the hall, or their tvs. Great for kids and adults - casino, swimming pool, and bowling ally. May just have to go back for the heck of it!

Great cultural center just down the road (walkable). Go visit if you don't know the area (even if you do).

Comfortable and safe stay. We traveled with our 2 small kids (7 and 8 years old) and the room's space and hotel's pools and food options provided us with a nice stay during our Durango & Mesa Verde exploration stop. I would stay again.
Room: nicely decorated, minor wear & tear, a small balcony (no chairs), was very clean, quiet, and had a fridge/microwave. Beds were comfortable.
Food: We ate breakfast at Willows Café Bistro. Good food and overall $.
Pool: Indoor pool and hot tub. The pool was a bit cool for the adult's taste but the kids enjoyed it. Hot tub was certainly hot. Towels and clean restrooms onsite. We enjoyed it every day at night after a long active day out.
Smoking: We were told the entire hotel and casino were non-smoking, and during our 2 night stay we did not smell any smoke.

Checked in exactly at 3 pm, reception excellent, quick and friendly. This was our 4th stay at the resort, living in Dolores, Colorado. Despite some snarky reviews of the casino, we have always found seats at our favorite slots and tables, much preferable to waiting for a slot or table, made enjoyable with local conversation, unspoiled by frenetic activity. My wife has her favorite slots which I will not disclose here. This hotel is 35 miles from any “city views” surrounded by snowcapped mountains and cattle ranches. The hotel provides support to the local Ute tribe and provides employment to many locals. That said, we heartily recommend the 7 Rivers fine dining, a true steakhouse with an extensive menu to tempt anyone. The brioche bread pudding created daily is unique and superb. Kinesha at the bar makes a great manhattan and amaretto sour. Wine list represents most diners choices. Both for dinner and breakfast the prices are half the cost of fine dining in Denver or Durango and equal or superior in quality. No street noise as the village of Ignacio is a 5 minute walk. In the village of less than 1000 there is a large, high quality grocery with barbecue or tacos going at the curb. There is also a native arts trading post with clothing, jewelry and art. A local bar, The Sidekick, is a friendly, definitely “ local bar” and the overall music in the hotel is native flute played discreetly in the public spaces. Randall, Marcelito and Zak in the restaurant are friendly and attentive. Rooms are modern, excellent beds and very quiet. This hotel is a great find in the middle of Southwestern Colorado, close to MesaVerde, Chimney Rock, Chaco Canyon, and Pagosa Hot Springs. Do not pass up a stay or just a meal at this outstanding property.

Chose Sky Ute Resort to be close to Navajo Lake and had a wonderful stay. Entire facility has gone smoke free, including the casino so that was a real plus! Bowling alley was a great time for the family but the putt putt golf was still closed due to Covid. The rooms are wonderful with some of the nicest treatments and finishing we’ve experienced. Beds were excellent! The best treat was the on-site steakhouse which we were able to experience as they had just reopened. Was one of the best meals, ever!! Price-value for entire resort was good and the entire staff were exceptional and welcoming. Highly recommend this property. We did not try out the pool on this visit but it looked nice.

Worst casino, ever…

In Durango for a night getaway and decided to check it out. Beautiful place, but was practically a ghost town on a Friday night

There were maybe 30 players, most of the restaurants and gift shops were closed and not a single player on any table games. Should have been a red flag.

Played a few slots. No wins over a few dollars. No bonuses. Nothing

Didn’t see anyone winning more than a $20 jackpot.

It was so bad we walked out just shaking our heads

The place has huge potential, but if NOBODY wins, then nobody comes back.

There is no excuse for the location to be empty on a Friday at 7:00. Need to replace the management

We stayed here for one night in Suite 300. The room is so perfect. Big living room with a large tv and comfy furniture. When we first entered, we thought the electricity was off. Called the desk and they told us to turn on the master switch in the entry and presto, we had electricity.
The bed is a king poster bed and the mattress was great. Lots of pillows. The soaker tub was wonderful and there is a separate shower. Light up mirror is nice for make up application. Two robes made lounging nice. The shampoo, etc look locally made. If you can splurge or get a comp suite here, do it!

You have to wonder about a Casino/Hotel that furnishes their guests with single ply T.P. No comp drinks on Casino floor. Really missed early AM gambling as Casino doesn't open till 9:00 AM - closes at midnight. I think Southern Ute Tribe is making VERY good money at guest's expense.

Overall it was a nice hotel, nothing fancy, but it was clean and quiet. The casino is ok, a lot of the machine do not work, and it is almost impossible to find someone who works there. Only one restaurant as open and it closes fairly early. There were a group of motorcyclists there but they were all retired marines and were totally fine. None of the table games were open, overall whoever runs the casino need some serious help.

Stay at the resort for 3 days while on a Colorado sightseeing vacation and we are so happy we found this resort. Normally when you stay at a casino resort you hear the sounds of the slot machine through out the whole place and that is not true at the Skye Ute. It was a quiet, peaceful and super clean! Only downside was that we stayed Sunday through Wednesday and their steakhouse was closed on Monday & Tuesday. We plan on staying here the next time we are in the area.
