My bed was historic, as in should have been thrown out a decade ago. It caved in at the center; anyone trying to lie on the edge would tumble into the middle. Rest of the hotel was not much better. Service was weird. Place felt sad overall. I think it's mostly a residential hotel? Maybe? I don't know. I really...

Thank you for your review. As the owner of Historic Melrose Hotel it can be difficult to hear critical feedback, since we care so much about our customers and want to provide value and satisfaction for every one of them. However, I believe we can always improve, so I will share your thoughts with our team to see how we...

Loved it. Very authentic with period furnishings and decor. Shared bathroom however I thought it excellent value and so much more interesting than a cookie-cutter motel. Perfect and friendly enough, would definitely stay again

Stayed here during the Grand Junction Off Road mountain bike race! Price was very reasonable! Rooms a bit dated but the name says historic so what the heck! I slept well and in the end that's what counts and being downtown within walking distance of the event was what I wanted and this was right there!

Traveling for holidays and decide to stop over and spend a few nights in Grand Junction before heading to Vegas. Saw this hotel on a cannabis friendly lodging site and decided to give it a try. Quite affordable and accommodating, the communal kitchen was an added bonus to saving on eating out daily. The staff was awesome in knowing what...

This vintage hotel is also a hostel to budget or lone travelers. Check in was quick at 9pm. We booked a room with two beds and our own bathroom as we did not want to share a community bathroom. Heater kept turning off and on all night despite our efforts to set it so it would stay on all night....

Take this review with a grain of salt because I only spent a few hours here and never got a room. I arrived very late at night because of a train delay. I had a reservation at this place, and called ahead to let the manager (?) know I would be arriving at 2 or 3 am. He said fine,...

Some think this is old and decrepit, but I think it is a neat old interesting vintage hotel. If you are on a budget, not interested in typical expensive hotels, this works! Had a large ground floor room on the back with clean beds, bath a/c and ceiling fan, shower. Everything worked well. Is also hostel for those who wish...

As the name states it's a historic place. By far one of the oldest houses in town. So if you're looking for an all shiny new hotel block this is not your place. But for us the Melrose was just perfect for a few nights. You could feel the history and heritage when walking through the narrow hallways with the...

Some "historic" hotels are quaint, charming, or interesting. The staff attempt to make it work, but this property is old, decrepit, and worn out. The Rodeway Inn up the street would have been a much better choice.

you remember those older hotels our grandparents went to... Near downtown, with a lobby and rooms up the stairs? Well, as time goes on, those hotels usually change direction (as they age) and usually start doing long-termed residents and a few room for hostelers.. like me. Despite what others may say, the place is clean and tidy. There is a...
