When we travel, we always look for alternatives to the sterile, boring, foreign and corporate owned chains. In Granby, the place to stay is the Trail Riders Motel! Original vintage touches abound, including knotty-pine paneling, period (original?) furnishings, glass block windows in the bathroom, cool original sink, etc. Lisa provided a warm welcome on our arrival after a long motorcycle-riding...

Yes you are right! The knotty pine is original. The Trail Riders was built in 1949 and 1950 and opened for buisness in 1951. We are the 4th owners of the motel. We have owned it for 24 years and have tried to keep a lot of it as original as possible. The desks are original with the TRL on...

Excellent for the cost and cleanliness. The room's appearance was a step back in time with its knotty pine walls! The room was equipped with a small fridge, a microwave, a small table with two chairs, and a desk. Free Wi-Fi was available. The bed was amazing ~ great night's sleep.. When I asked about it, the owners said it...

This place is a real gem! We were looking for a kitch motel for a one night stay and we found it! The owners were so open and accommodating. We had a 2 bedroom, so our room was a bit larger than the rest (or so I was told). Old wood panelling covering the walls and ceilings - not tacky...

We want to thank you so much for your wonderful review. I love it when people notice the little things that make such a difference. The woodwork in the motel was done back in 1950 when the motel was built. It opened for buisness in 1951 so you can see it holds up well if you take care of it....

This hotel was amazing. They manage to keep the feel of a small town "mom and pop" place with the standards of cleanliness and maintenance of a large corporate hotel! I was truly impressed. I was just coming through with a group of Marine Corp Veterans and let me tell you about the added touch... The manager Mark came out...

We are so happy you chose The Trail Riders for your over night stay! We were very honored to have you as our guests. Thank you for such a great review we appreciate it very much! I can't say enough about Lisa and Marc and their customer service. They are really great. The bagpipe is an extra bonus! Lisa and...

We had 2 double beds that were comfortable and nice was it that they were in two different rooms. The room is equipped with a fan to bring in outside air but no a/c. It was not an issue even in a "heatwave" of July 2016. (I was concerned but everything was great.) The lady from the front desk was...

So glad you were happy with your stay at the Trail Riders! Thank you so much for the great review! Lisa and Marc work very hard at the motel. They do everything themselves so they are very busy. They try and make every guest feel as though they have been there before. I guess you said it right " down...

We stayed 4 nights in a two bedroom unit. It was fabulous. There is a big shelving unit to store the snacks we bought at the local City Market, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, Cable TV , and free wifi. Lisa and Marc keep this motel spotless. I would definitely recommend it.

I would like to take a moment and thank you for all your kind words. We have tried hard to make our small motel cozy but workable. We are so glad you had a good four day stay. Please come see us again! Thanks you.

The place looked that best of the several motels that are on the main strip of the town. Two small rooms with no real features. No phone. The code for Wifi is in the book which we didn't discover until the morning. No air conditioning but did have a fan in the window. Bathroom was a little crusty. Found hair...

I don't write reviews but due to a previous One I will this time. This place is exactly as they advertise nothing less, what they don't advertise is the owners are great people will do anything within reason to accommodate you. People like this is what America was built on. I've stayed here 3 times in 3 years, it is...

I would like to thank you so much for your honest review. I feel everything you said was exactly the way it really is. We advertise as a mom and pop place so when people come they are not expecting a chain motel. It's very small, only eleven units, but there is a lot of hard work that goes into...

This was our first stay in a motel, so we are rating the property based on our perception of it compared to the average motel. We attended a wedding in Granby, CO & wanted to stay close to the event. We typically stay in luxury or mid-range hotel chains, however, there were none available in Granby. We found the Trail...

We would like to thank you for writing such a nice review! Lisa and Marc do work very hard at meeting all our guests needs. This property illustrates my main concern/criticism of the TripAdvisor community: The community blows the value of 1950s bungalow-style motels completely out of proportion. I can't mention other reviews, or other properties, without risking the removal of this review, so I will have to speak generically. But, suffice it to say, these tiny properties have captured the imagination of the TripAdvisor...

I am sorry to hear you were disappointed with The Trail Riders Motel. We always advertise as a small mom and pop place to stay. Yes our place is small, but most people stay with us because they like the cozy charm. When these types of motels were built they fit everybody's needs. We have up dated as much as we...
