3 night stay. The good: Clean, comfortable. Great location. Two queens separated into two bedrooms. Coffee shop downstairs The bad: Terrible parking. They want to change you to park. No breakfast of any kind. No workout room. For the price you can do better!

Beautiful facilities and fantastic location. However, they seem to be light on staff. After calling the front desk for half an hour, I finally went downstairs in my pajamas to try to get an answer to a simple question. However, no one was there. After waiting for another half hour, I gave up on basic service from this hotel and went back to my room to get help from the internet. Again, great fasciitis’s, but terrible staff. I will not stay here again.

We made reservation through Expedia, but even with a confirmation number and a couple of reminders about our one night stay, when we showed up, they at first said there was no such reservation for the name given, and later when I produced the confirmation number, informed us that it has been cancelled. We certainly did not cancel it and even drove from Aspen to spend one night at this hotel. The lady at the front desk was totally overwhelmed and could not give us any explanation. I still had no idea what happened and how my reservation got messed up. The hotel was completely booked that night, and somehow because I did not book directly with them, my reservation just got canceled. There was no explanation on their part, we had to drive to the next town to find accommodation at the last minute. To say the least, their booking process with third party is ineffective and unreliable if they could not trace a reservation with a valid confirmation number. But the worst part is that because they are successful, they don’t care about customers - existing or potential - and there was no attempt to apply minimum customer service consideration to the situation.

This used to be a well run hotel and a great experience. However, during this stay we have had to contend with a yapping dog down the hall. The shower head looks brand new but, it constantly droops, you can't adjust it, it was poorly installed. But, coup de gras is now they charge $15 to $20 per day for parking when their advertisement says it's free. I'll be staying somewhere else from now on.

Great Hotel! I'm usually not wild about staying at older Hotels but this one changed my mind. Very Clean, historical, with updated top notch bathroom, walking to everything in the city center. Staff was helpful with dinner suggestions and can't thank them enough for suggestion Juicy Lucy's Steakhouse just a couple doors away. Also, there is a nice coffee shop which is accessible from withing the Hotel itself. Parking is very close, just across the street. Beds comfortable and very large rooms..not just a small hotel room. Best stay!!

We've stayed here at least once a year (sometimes twice) for the past 6 years and have a great time, every time. The staff is very friendly. The coffee shop downstairs is always tasty. You can walk to literally everything (even Iron Mountain is only a 20 minute stroll through an adorable park). Would recommend checking out a few of the rooms as they are all very different, I like the signature boutiques the best. The only thing that would be nice is if they had a mini fridge in the room for waters, beer, etc. And maybe a harder mattress option. Aside from that, always a great visit and will keep going back.

If you want an old fashion feel it's the place for you. Great location to everything. Staff very good. Down side, we could hear everything from the room above us! I mean everything!!!! I had to turn on TV to drown out what was going on. The rooms next to us we heard everything. People taking shower, talking and opening and closing doors. Our bathroom was in need of an update, tile looked to be painted in spots in the shower which had stared to peel off. Same thing with sink. Weird.... We purchased package with the Hot Springs included, come to find out the Pool was open but the Hot Springs that usually filer into the pool was not in working order, ended up purchasing pass to Iron Mountain Hot Springs. For priced paid for room not worth it. Will not stay here again.

In my view, the hotel is very overpriced. It has had many face lifts over the years but it still has old bones. My bed was so warm out I had to put a quilt under the mattress to help take the sag out. To bad it is a nice area.

The hotel was nice and friendly and the inside was beautiful. But when we were there there the water heater was broken so we all had to take cold showers for two days. The room was woodland themed with windows looking into the lobby. This was another downside because the lobby kept their lights on all night which bothered our sleeping. If the water heater was not broken this could had a better ratings.

Room Tip: if the water heater is back on this would probably be a good place to stay.

Dear Zouwu, We are terribly sorry for your experience with the hot water. We discovered a plumbing issue in the Brewpub and have rectified the issue. We have many different rooms types available, and if the view is something you are interested in, I would recommend booking the Signature Boutique Queen room on your next stay. this room boasts a separate seating area and stunning views of the mountains and river. We do hope to see you again in the future. Sincerely, Roger Smith - GM

My husband surprised me with the Saint James Suite which was a hot tub. The hot tube was great though you were not allowed to use it after 11pm. He did not know that the suite was on the bottom floor of a duplex across the street from the hotel. It was a charming suite overall very rustic. The problem was with the upstairs neighbors as we could hear every move they made late into the night. The heating was not consistent and there was an issue with bugs (spiders and black bugs, not bedbugs). I had a black bug jump on me while I was in the shower. Which scared me. I told the hotel staff about the issues and was given a $10 gift card for coffee. The staff were nice but the issues weren’t really addressed.
