This is a quaint historic hotel. The rooms are minimal but evoke a feel of simpler times. We arrived around 8:30 pm and were on the road again by 8 am the following morning. i would have loved more time to explore this hotel and the adorable town of Glenwood springs.
For the rate I paid in my room, I should have better customer service. I will never stay here again. I get better customer service at a cheaper hotel. Plus, you only get passes to the hot springs for one day. This is completely not worth the money to be treated this terribly. Save your money and get treated better at another hotel.
A lot of renovations going on to this gorgeous historic hotel. Love the lobby and polo bar. Location is superb. The rooms do not reflect the price point. Very minimal but all of the history throughout is incredibly interesting. The front lawn is a dream to sit and chat or have a drink.
The best part of our stay at this hotel was Thomas, the bellhop/concierge/shuttle bus driver. He was so helpful, friendly and professional. We were a bit surprised when we arrived to find construction going on. It had not been mentioned at the time of check in. It would have been a winning management decision to give dining discounts for our stay or free beverage card, or something to keep guest happy during this noisy time. The room was cozy and period appropriate. So don't expect in room coffee or refrigerator or microwave. We were disappointed to find dusty wood work in the bathroom but could chalk that up to staff shortages. With the exception of one evening bar tender the entire staff was wonderful, professional and very helpful. Thomas was the delight and Carol at the front desk was very helpful as well. I would hold off making reservations until the remodel is complete. Unless there is an incentive to book now.…
Classic beauty with lots of history. Kind of has a shining vibe to it. The bar was pretty with huge pours. The best part was the outdoor seating area under the trees with fire pits and rocking chairs. I could have sat out there for days. The rooms are huge and clean.
It was a pleasure to have an opportunity to stay in a such a beautiful hotel that was built in the late 1800's. It felt a little like being in a history museum because of the photos and other information that was hanging on the walls throughout the hotel. The lobby took up much of the downstairs, with comfortable chairs to relax in and lovely, quiet places to read or people watch. Additionally, the landscaping is beautiully done and well-maintained. New owners are in the process of refurbishing the hotel...when we stayed, crews were busy working on the third floor. Probably because of that and the fact that the hotel was just reopening after COVID, the room rate was surprisingly affordable. I want to highlight Carol, the person working at the reception desk, who was delightfully friendly and a source of so much information during our stay.…
My state organization just finished our first annual conference since 2019 and Hotel Colorado helped make it such a fabulous return. We had originally planned to have this conference at this hotel a few years ago now but for obvious reasons that couldn't happen. The hotel team was so helpful in getting our whole plan moved and we very successfully put on a fantastic conference especially in the face of all of the problems we threw at them. I want to give a very special shoutout to Danielle, Director of Rooms, who was so patient, helpful, kind, and BEYOND understanding as 100+ guests showed up with myriad problems due to state restrictions on travel and paying for stays. Some groups were prepared for their stay but most were not. You'd think that as professionals who are accustomed to being yelled at regularly, people in my industry would show some composure when they realized they had not done all of the things necessary to prepare for their reservation. Unfortunately that was not the case. Danielle worked with each of them showing them nothing but kindness, generosity, and professionalism despite some of the behavior. She went BEYOND out of her way to help resolve some of the issues, working well into the night on the phone with people who refused to cooperate. I can't say enough amazing things about how hard she worked to help everyone all while supporting her team. I'm very grateful to her. Also a special shoutout to Sydni who was new to the job and got very quick training by being thrown into the deep end of the pool and still had a smile on her face after we threw pure chaos at her. An important aside is that the rooms are very comfortable and clean and quirky in a really fun way that makes you feel like you're staying among history. I will absolutely be back.…
We had dinner at the hotel Colorado, and Luke was our server. I have trained a lot of servers in my life, so believe me when I say Luke is one of the most attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly servers I have ever experienced. The food was fantastic, service impeccable, we will definitely be visiting again. Thank you very much Marcus, beverage manager, and Luke incomparable server. Cheers, LL
Our stay was amazing! Carol is so wonderful, I felt like I’ve made a friend to come back to! She and I talked like old friends and found we share a birthday! We had an awesome breakfast and Luke was just the icing on the cake! He made us feel like we were the only people in the hotel! He pampered us and gave us the best service ever! We are definitely coming back to our newly made friends monthly!
My husband and I booked what we hoped would be four days of peace and quiet. We booked a suite so there would be extra room for us to read and rest. The “renovations” now appearing on their website do not explain the fact that from 8am-6pm the walls are shaking as a result of continual pounding and drilling...no let up! After two nights we had to pack up to leave. Despite our concerns, no one from management could bother to reach out and offer an apology. The front desk team were very sympathetic and did reimburse part of our rate. However, it wasn't about the money, it was that we desperately needed the break and didn’t get it. Had we known the impact of the renovations on the guests, we would have chosen a different hotel.
