Good room - peaceful. Beautifully clean. Helpful staff. Very old and unique lift. Centrally located in easy walking distance to the old parts of town and also basic grocery shopping if needed. We'd definately stay there again.

Was going to stay at the Strater but after digging deep into reviews it appears they have a resort fee which is bunk. Had a large king room for 119.00 a night, nice bathroom with sink separate from it. Huge comfy bed, bathrobes in the closet. Porch wraps around the building for being outside with drinks, no chairs. Wifi worked...

We stayed for two nights. Our room was spacious and clean. The hotel is in a great location at the end of the historic district. Close to a beautiful walk along the Animas River Trail. Guests have a choice of breakfast in the hotel or voucher for breakfast at Lone Spur Cafe across the street. We chose the Lone Spur...

The General Palmer is beautiful and made my friend and I feel so at home. Hayden and Nicole were wonderful at the front desk! They were helpful and made sure we were in...

We had a great time in Durango in general and this old hotel is certainly filled with great ambiance- historic without feeling old.Staff was very friendly and informative, we used this as a jumping off spot for Mesa Verde.

Have always wanted to stay at the General Palmer Hotel and it was better then we imagined possible! A four-diamond hotel at a three diamond price. Rooms were most comfortable with all the amenities you could ask for. They include breakfast - either there on site or at a wonderful local café just across the street. Durango has so much...

I have nothing but good things to say about our stay at this hotel. The hotel is an historical marvel, the room was wonderful, the location is perfect and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. To top it all off, the room rates are very affordable. This will now be our go to place in Durango!

A lovely Victorian hotel right next to the antique narrow-gage railroad station at the end of old Main Street. Literally minutes walk from all the shopping, dining and night life you could ask for. While not as "classic" as the Strater hotel (2 blocks away) it is still lovely experience. Large rooms are both modern and historic feeling, right down...
