room was not ready after 4pm breakfast was not available. free parking is on public street "just park anywhere in the neighborhood where you can find an open spot" Nobody had a clue of what was going on (where is the cleaner, what room is clean yet, how long will it be until room is ready)

You're staying in an antique with a courteous staff and spacy suites for a great price. There are lots of bars and liquor stores around you as well. I would highly recommend for a solo traveler or couples.

I stayed here, no cable, outdated movie selection, sour milk was served with breakfast, my scrambled eggs were over cooked and burned in places, coffee was too strong and old, it smelled like weed in the hallways from arrival to departure, it was loud at night from people upstairs walking around to hearing people in the hallways, you can hear...

The staff here was incredibly helpful and welcoming. It's in a very old home, so with that, you get a lot of old features to the rooms. I stayed in room 23, which was cute and quaint. It was on the side of the building so I didn't get the noise from Colfax. There were not many outlets to plug...

We were a bit hesitant as it was the first time we stayed at a bed and breakfast but the great service made up for everything. The rooms were victorian style as well as the tea room.We really enjoyed the made to order breakfast. Chris and John went out of their way to make our trip that much more comfortable.the...

If you expect anything more than a poorly-maintained property with a decent, made-to-order-breakfast, you should avoid this place. Urban environment with homeless and panhandlers in abundance (one was sleeping on the front steps of the property!). The photos led me to believe we were going to a quality establishment, but when we stepped into our room (#3), we were shocked...

While the staff at the Holiday Chalet was more than welcoming and extremely helpful, I was disappointed in the room (#5) I felt like we were staying in a maiden aunt's back bedroom--the bed did not have a headboard and you definitely rolled toward the middle sag. The second bedroom had dead, dried leaves all over the floor. Taking a...

The home is beautiful. If you like historical homes you'll love staying here. The staff was really helpful and amiable. Really great service! I paid $170 for two nights and that included made to order breakfast from their talented chef! You can't beat it. Holiday Chalet made our stay in Denver comfortable than I could have imagined.

Wow. I would have said a "diamond in the rough" but I've used that title previously. Several reviewers have noted the somewhat crusty neighborhood in which the Holiday Chalet is located...I would say for even the most modestly adventurous to not let this dissuade you in the least. The only "complaint" I could think of is the traffic noise on...

The room was great, with a queen bed, kitchenette, claw-foot tub/shower and sunny alcove. The period room and furnishings were cozy and attractive, good tv and Wi-Fi. The breakfast was excellent, and the hosts were friendly and accommodating. I had trouble getting the room heated correctly (a window was stuck open at -25 degree wind chill and could not be...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our hotel is a fully-restored Victorian, brownstone mansion originally built in 1896 for prominent Denver jeweler Henry Bohm of Bohm Jewelers. Elegant period décor along with high ceilings, hardwood floors, intricate moldings, private baths and kitchens make us Denver's most alluring and comfortable bed and breakfast. From our eclectic Capitol Hill location visitors enjoy Denver's best sight-seeing, shopping, music, art, and nightlife all within minutes of our front door-the neighborhood described in the Jack Kerouac classic, On the Road. The Holiday Chalet enjoys the benefit of an exciting, high-energy central location within the vibrant heart of the city amid an eclectic mixture of shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues. The creative spirit in our neighborhood appeals to artists, architects, designers, writers and musicians alike. However, enveloping warmth, charm, comfort, and security within the hotel also make The Holiday Chalet a convenient home away from home for business and leisure travelers alike. As a Bed and Breakfast we begin each morning in true style with a full, home-cooked breakfast served from 7:30 to 10:00 am. A variety of delicious homemade offerings are made fresh including Cowboy pancakes, crustless veggie or bacon quiche, French toast, eggs and bacon, fresh fruits, juice, tea, and premium coffee. ... more   less
