We stayed 3 nights at the Grand Lodge in June 2022 through an Airbnb rental. The hotel was clean and check in staff friendly. I can't comment on the restaurant/bar or gift shop as they close in early May until late June. No problem as we ate all our meals in Crested Butte, where we had many choices. The Lodge was only 10-15% occupied which was great. The location was good for our hikes in the area.
Liked · Lobby was very nice Disliked 1. Bed too soft. New mattress needed as slopes on the sides and is higher in the middle 2. NO microwave 3. Standard king room too small. Bed is too big for the room-queen would be better 4. Side doors not locked. Should have it set up to use the room key to get in
Grand Lodge is awesome! Our room was even better! Corner unit with amazing views , plenty of room for our family of 3. Staff is excellent, very helpful! Close to everything ! Will definitely be back! Love CB
We loved our stay at the Grand Lodge! The king bedroom suites are awesome because the bedroom is separate and allows for privacy from the living and kitchen area. Its also so nice to have 2 TVs! The walk to the ski lifts is 3 minutes and there is a free ski check next to the ski lift so no schlepping. There is a handy convenience store next to the Grand Lodge where we bought eggs, bread, bananas and wine so we could do some meal prep in the room in the kitchen (stove top, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, but no oven). The pool and hot tub are awesome and very warm. When we went before 2pm we had it all to ourselves. The shuttle to town is right in front and runs every 15 minutes. I don’t think there is any other slopeside property at a Vail resort with peak room rates under $300/night. This may be the best deal in Colorado! We paid double this rate for a horrible room in Telluride last week. Cannot wait to return to Crested Butte and will always stay at the Grand Lodge…
My family of three stayed in unit# 451. It is a corner room with plenty of space and offers more windows with great views. Hopefully when we make it back there we can get the same unit, highly reccomend!!! The hotel itself is in a great location with easy acces to slopes (basically a 3-4 minute walk in ski boots. There is ski/board storage at base of mountain (free of charge) so you do not have to carry them back with you. Shuttle service to downtown area right outside of lodge. Hot tub, gift shop, coffee shop, free parking. The staff could not have been more helpful or professional, from storing some ski equipment for us that arrived before we did to extra coffee, linens etc. Overall I give it 5+ stars!!!! Will definetly be going back.
We skied 4 days and stayed 5 nights. Positives were convenient location, ample free parking and free on mountain ski valet. Don’t use the mountain lockers as the walk is very short in ski boots. Fitness center was small, but nice. Smaller inside/outside pool was great. Lobby was warm and inviting with a gas fireplace and plenty of luggage carts. Don’t know if there was bell service as we didn’t ask. Nice small gift shop if you forgot something. We didn’t use the buses. It was very close to the various bus stops. Stayed in 324 and it was a clean 1 bedroom with two full baths. More than enough hot water. Negatives were hot tub was hot but the jets didn’t work. Housekeeping was hit or miss to get them. I know every room is individually appointed. Ours lacked a toaster and was very sparsely stocked as we had 4 bowls, 4 plates and 3 coffee cups. Coffee maker was too small, but did operate well. Dishwasher worked well and often as we had to run it due to lack of dish ware. Overall nice stay. We would return.…
We are a family of 4 and the suite with the king size bed and pull out couch works perfectly for us. The location is excellent. The staff is helpful and responsive. We've been coming here for the last 3 years and if there is ever an issue, the staff has helped us out right away. We always enjoy the pool and hot tub amenities after a day of skiing, too.
The view from out the windows was literally a pile of garage bags. There was no hot water, the front desk manager told me to just let it run for ten to fifteen minutes till it warmed up. After a few minutes the water in the tub was so backed up I figure the tub would overflow before the water was hot so I turned it off. Luckily around 3 in the afternoon there was hot water so I could shower before going to a wedding. There was constant noise. Not just from the hallway, dogs, ski boots, kids yelling, etc. but there was constant noise in the walls. Drilling from someone installing a closet in the unit above, something like the sound of an hvac unit constantly resetting. The room itself was clean, but dingy and smelled sort of stale. It was by far the worst hotel I can remember staying. I would never go back. I mentioned a few of the things to the front desk manager when checking out and she said, yeah, it’s been a rough couple of days here. Can’t really blame her, more of a bad reflection on Vail resorts. It would have been nice to been offered some sort of something, but nope. It was just just overall and awful experience. Oh and I can’t comment on housekeeping bc they never came by.…
I was skeptical staying here based on a few bad reviews but I will say that I rate our stay 9.5 out of 10. Location is great and I have zero negative things to say that wouldn’t be just complaining to be negative. Grab and go breakfast was good! Hot tub, pool and fitness center A+ I’ll be back for sure!
I just got back from a 4 night stay on the 3rd floor of Grand Lodge. The location is excellent: 1 minute walk to slopes, 1 minute walk to free bus that stops at Clarks grocery, restaurants and town. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. We had no problem storing skis on the first floor. The hot tub was perfect, and everyone enjoyed it so much. The cleaning staff was always available for extra towels, etc. Having 2 TVs and a well stocked kitchenette in the room was so great. The upscale coffee shop and ski rental is also a block away. A small grocery store with great deli sandwiches and alcohol is across the street. We will definitely be back and stay at the Grand Lodge again!
