I love Choice Hotels. I have stayed 19 nights in various hotels this year. I have an issue with the lack of securing people’s private information at the Hotels. When I am scheduled to leave the next day, an invoice is placed under my door and 90% of the time it is not all the way under my door. Many invoices are partially in the hall. Some are even completely out in the hall.
On each invoice is the full first and last name, address, Choice account number, last four numbers of my credit card and the amount each person paid. This is privileged information that should not be given to anyone other than the person who rented the room. In one case, an invoice was placed under my door and it was for someone else on a different floor that did not have a room number close to mine. I took the receipt to the front desk and asked where my invoice was. They’ve done had NO idea.
I contacted Choice Hotels Corporate offices by sending two certified letters. I requested they change their policy Nationally by masking everyone’s name by showing only the first letter of the first and last name and having X’s for the address, credit card and Choice account number. I received NO response from Choice.
Armed with the information they do not mask, one would know your name, address and that you are out of town. Someone could rob your home. They would also have privileged information that could do serious damage in other ways. I can’t believe Choice has completely ignored me and does not take my private information as a top priority.
Why Choice does not make a simple change Nationwide and mask all private information astounds me. They should put the privacy of their guests as a top priority. Please join me in contacting Choice and ask that they put their guests privacy as #1. In this World, everything should be done to protect your privacy. I hope a change is made before a serious issue occurs and this becomes a National Issue.
The front desk personnel were very cordial and helpful.
The first room assigned to us reeked of cigarette smoke. We didn't enter the room, just closed the door and went back to the front desk and asked for a different room. The second room was acceptable. Later we heard the bathroom exhaust fan running in the room right above our bathroom. When we entered our bathroom later that evening we could smell cigarette smoke wafting through the exhaust duct from the room above into our bathroom.
The front desk gave us an aerosol can of something to mask the smoke smell. That helped somewhat.
When we went to take a shower the next morning we discovered the bath mat was folded up wet with black hairs in it and it was plainly dirty and had been left in the room after being used by a previous guest.
Our stay at this property was an overall huge disappointment.
This is not what we have come to expect from the Choice Hotel chain, especially when it is supposed to be all smoke free properties.
We stayed here due to proximity to UCCS and other places we visited. Nice staff, comfortable beds, free laundry, pool, breakfast, It is clean and comfortable BUT so very noisy from I-25....request a room on the back, it may help...parking is limited.
We had a nice room but it was a bit noisy due to the neighbours and from the trains and traffic. Comfortable beds, good shower, and nice decor. The staff was very friendly and eager to help with any problems. We loved the indoor spa and pool, with the outdoor deck area to lounge in the sun.
Close to the Air Force Academy and shopping. We are more focused on cleanliness than anything else and this hotel passed without issues. The room was spacious, no odors of cigarette smoke, mildew or anything else. Beds were comfortable, bedding was clean. There was an outdoor patio for guests who smoke. Even though it was along a busy road the traffic noise was minimal. Free on site parking. Shopping centers a short drive away. Pet friendly. The staff was courteous, professional and helpful.
