We recently travelled across the country from Baltimore. Along the way we stayed in a variety of accommodations from Residence Inn, Sheraton to Hampton Inn. When we got to Colorado Springs I called the Hughes Hacienda to see if we could stay here because we had been here before in 2004 and remembered what a great place it is. I...

We stayed in the lower suite and on arrival, fell right into the leather chairs and propped our feet up on the matching ottomans. Comfort everywhere. Secluded for quiet sleep and privacy. Each morning, we took a dip in the hot tub in the front courtyard. Breakfast was gourmet, not only scrumptious, but well presented and healthy. The meal was...

The fatigue of the car trip melted away as soon as we stepped through the gate into the patio. The view from the terraces, the care of the gardens, the fun sculptures, the birds at the feeders, the subtle back ground music, the fantastic breakfasts, the knowledgeable, interesting hosts all made for a memorable experience. The aching muscles relaxed in...

There are only two rooms at this B&B. The basement room that we took is very large and comfortable and we happily spent three nights here in May of 2012. While it's about a 10 minute drive north into town, the seculsion and scenery of the hacienda make that worthwhile. The other room is smaller, with a private washroom that...

Awesome choices: A basement room, down two flights of stairs, with no view, or... The second room with a bath across the main hall - You do like leaving your room to use the bathroom, right? "Private" patio is a few flat rocks right next to the owner's patio. If you're lucky, they'll stare at you as they have dinner....

Management response:

These people checked in, occupied the room for 4 hours, attempted to leave without paying and got mad when they were charged for 1/2 night stay. It was December, the comments about the patios were strange since they were not being used due to the cold weather. Unless her husband was 8 feet tall he could certanily stand up in...

Hughes Hacienda was absolutely wonderful.... The best B & B that we have ever stayed. Wayne and Carol were great hosts and I can't say enough about Wayne's capabilities in the kitchen. They definitely have a great nack for making you feel comfortable. The landscape as well as the decor were very aesthetic, almost enough, to want to relocate there....

I cannot say enough about this destination. My fiance and I were looking for a weekend get away and we could not have asked for a better place. Just far enough from the city to feel isolated and close enough to enjoy the areas attractions. I cannot say enough about Wayne's talents in the kitchen and his excellent hospitality. Hoping...

This bed and breakfast is spectacular! The views are breathtaking. It's clean, quiet, and comfortable. Wayne and Carol are most gracious hosts. The breakfast was not only aesthetically delightful but filling and delicious as well. This is a must stay if you like B&B's! Thanks for a great vacation- "the kids".

I searched for quite a long time to find just the right bed & breakfast inn for a road trip to Colorado. I prefer simple aesthetics, privacy, and local, fresh food. The website for the Hacienda suggested all of the above and I was very pleased with the stay. The Hacienda suite was roomy, comfortable, secluded and the king size bed...

Staying at the Hughes Hacienda was such a treat especially at the end of our vacation. Our hosts couldn't have been more gracious. And the gourmet breakfasts were delicious. We were served out on their patio, where we shared the time with hummingbirds, birds of all sorts, and a view to die for!!! It was so relaxing we didn't want...
