Do not stay in the cabins they have to rent. $125 for cabin 3 that gave us mouse droppings in silverware drawer and pots cabinets. Kitchen drawers all broken. The full bed in the loft was a mattress on the floor. Stains on everything. Originally rented #10 and they moved us to #3 saying it was the same and it...

I am truly sorry you felt your stay at our campground was unpleasant. Cabins rented to guests should never be in such disarray, and our customer service be poorly received. Prospector's staff prides themselves on being helpful, considerate and kind, after all we wouldn't have jobs if it wasn't for the guests. There is no suitable defense I can possibly...

We have stayed here a handful of times, and have never had a bad experience. Highlights include: sites that are clean and mostly level; playground and bounce pad are fun for the kids; hosts are nice and helpful; quiet and peaceful camping. There are some longer term residents, but I have had no problems with any of them and do...

Thank you so much for your comments. We are working hard to add more amenities to the property. We are hoping to make our location the go-to family destination for the Royal Gorge area. Hope to see you again soon!

Had a great weekend tent camping here. Clean, large and quiet site was very private with amazing views, and plenty of space for our 6-man tent, which is hard to find in many campgrounds. Attentive staff checking to make sure site was to our liking. Kids loved the jumping pillow and playground, and the pool was a great place to...

Last year we visited in May and were thoroughly impressed with the direction the new owners were taking this park (see review titled "Best Family Camping in the Royal Gorge Region"). Unfortunately, this year we noticed some things that have prompted us to re-characterize the direction the park is heading. Let's start with this year's new front desk manager, who...

This location seems to be a place where people stay year round or at least for the entire season. Several "permanent" residents. The hosts were very helpful in finding a good spot for us and our RV. Bathrooms acceptable. Good pool with nice pool area seating. Big "bounce pad " which is great for the kids - like a trampoline...

Great first impression. Phone reservation with Owner. He was very pleasant and offered me #17, which is a wide, pull-through, full hookup site. We were staying for 4 days. Things went downhill once I actually checked in. The woman decided to downgrade us to another location once she looked at our rig. She didn't give a reason why she was...

Rent a cabin. Go rafting. Stay a few days and hang out at the pool and relax during your vacation while the kids run around their large property and use the game room, bounce pillow, and bring your bicycles and frisbees for their disc golf course.

I was referred to this campground by a local rafting company. No one was at the office when we arrived at 5:00pm which is fine...I understand it's Sunday and sometimes people need a break. Upon arriving we were greeted with multiple mid aged adults drinking and appear to actually live here. Splash pad was obviously clogged and run down, therefore...

We were in Canon City for rafting and stayed in one of the cabins. The only issue we had was the size. It had two sets of bunk beds and a futon. We were a little cramped, but the price was right and the campground was great! The kids loved the pool, the launch pad, and the game area. My...

Went to Canon City for family whitewater trip. Prospector was recommended by the rafting co. Many very long term "residents." Restrooms were clean, but we're out of order on second day. Pool was very dirty and splash pad was out of order both days. Foul language, a lot of alcohol, and theft of items by kids (only observed against other...

“We liked they way site 68 was tucked behind a cabin and had alot of trees around it. Site 71 is good for privacy as there is your camper between you and the site 70 and no other sites on the other side. Any of the wooded section sites you can't go wrong with; just tell Josie what you are looking for and she will reserve you the best available.”
