We visited The Rio Celeste Hideaway a couple of months ago. After a long drive, it was a blessing to see such a beautiful hotel. The room was great and clean. The path to the river was great since you can walk 5 minutes and be at the river in no time. The food we had at the restaurant was...

Credit must go where credit is due, and Juan Pablo the bellman is probably the most valuable asset this hotel boasts. He is truly an ambassador of goodwill and happiness, fulfilling the reputation of Ticos as friendly and making each and every person feel welcome and cherished. If I owned a hotel I would hire him away in a heartbeat!...

This place is amazing for the adventurous type like ourselves. We went for our honeymoon in August. The drive to get there was stressful as the roads went from paved to gravel roads with washed out mini canyons from the frequent rains. This hotel was off the beaten path, but beautiful, natural, and eco-friendly. Right on the Rio Celeste river...

Get ready to ride a rocky road to this beautiful hideaway. When driving on your own it is best to navigate from town to town. This is a beautiful place with exotic dark wood furniture, a great pool and hot tubs. The individual cabins are beautifully decorated with the same furniture, elegant sitting area, private jacuzzi & outdoor shower. This...

Getting here is an adventure (our driver had to try 3 times before making it up the last hill--I wouldn't want to drive it myself!), but it is beautiful, peaceful, and secluded. The "casita" accommodations are wonderful (private balcony, outdoor shower), and the pool features 3 hot tubs of varying temperatures. There is also a hiking trail to the river...

A very beautiful and relaxing place to visit. The entire staff was very friendly, very professional and their service was exemplary. Juan Pablo and Felix with their golf cart shuttle were also very helpful in giving information which made our stay and our visit to the PArque Nacional Vulcan Tenorio very enjoyable. Gustavo in the restaurant was fantastic, even entertaining...

Great for one or two nights. Beautiful setting. 5 minutes from the entrance to the Volcan Tenorio Park/Río Celeste, which is beautiful and totally worth the drive from San Jose (4 hours) and the 3 hours (6 kms, 600+ steps, muddy hike). The hotel has great rooms, very good food, nice atmosphere, great pool to relax in after the hike....

Yes it may mean taking a long drive on unpleasant roads commonly found in Costa Rica, but once you get there you're in an incredibly romantic spot. But remember, you are in the rainforest -- so beware of poisonous snakes (we encountered a Coral snake -- 20 minutes and you're dead) on the way to the pool; and you're clothes...

We drove from San Jose up to Rio Celeste. The drive was great, the best bit being the track up to Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel. On arrival we could park right next to the main, open air entrance. A guy called Juan Paulo helped us with our bags and put these into a golf buggy to drive round to our...
