Harding, the incomparable two-story Craftsman/Victorian-style home shows exterior elements of a British Colonial style found in India and Africa. A must-stay for lovers of history, antiques, architecture, original art, oriental rugs and a perfect idealic retreat to explore the majestic Sequoia park and other  local attractions.Choose the peaceful country-feel of the Juliana Suite with private shower/bath and stunning views of trees, mountains and sunsets; the more formal Lucy Harding Room with its unique cedar panels, vintage queen-size bed, private shower/bath with sounds of the Pond Fountain or the brightly-decorated Garden Cottage with stacked beds (the top a twin, the bottom a full-size feather bed), intimate enclosed garden shower and private patio entrance.  Whatever room you choose, you will be immersed by the charm and delightful  environment of this historical inn.Wicky-Up is a member of the Slow Food movement, growing its own fresh herbs and tomatoes and buying fresh, organic and locally whenever possible. A candlelight breakfast of culinary delights, served on Villeroy and Boch china, features fresh-squeezed Heirloom Washington navel orange juice from the ranch and blended organic rain forest coffee in a dining room appointed with 19th century antiques. Detailed Reviews
My husband and I loved staying in this beautiful home! We stayed in the Juliana Suite and it was definitely worth it. The quaint upstairs was perfect for our private little getaway after a day in the national park. Monica made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious and perfect for our appetite. Everything was grown from Jack and Monica’s garden or home-baked! If you’re looking for a quick place to stay to get in and out of the park (sequoia or kings canyon) this probably isn’t your place as that did take quite a bit of time— but if you’re looking for a unique, gorgeous, and welcoming experience and have time to drive an hour or so into the parks each day, we definitely recommend staying here. The hosts even let us pick a huge bag of oranges from their farm to take home! Loved every minute. (Oh and the bed was SO COMFY!)

This is a unique house hosted by amazing hosts. The house is full of history and beautiful touches in every corner. Monica is a good hearted and kind host that accommodates others needs with a smile, she provided us with helpful tips that saved us time, money and improved our overall experience. The house is nestled among stunning orange groves which is such a delight to walk through and see the view of the valley. The location was perfect to visit Sequoia National park.
This place is truly a hidden gem, only lucky ones will find it!

Dear Ahmed, Thank you for following through with this stellar review. We are so happy that you consider Wicky Up a "hidden gem." We will always remember our breakfast conversations with you and Mariati . We learned so much. It was also enjoyable working with you to help market your friend's invention. A team. You were so generous. Come again and enjoy a special discount on your room. In the meantime, stay healthy and productive and as integrous as you are. Sincerely, Monica

The Wicky Up Ranch is a great alternative to a conventional hotel or Airbnb. Monica and Jack's hospitality were incredible and they made our stay a blast. They provided us with great trails to hike in Sequoia/Kings Canyon, breakfast each morning and just overall good conversation. I felt like I knew them forever and they made our stay very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to other guests.

This was a beautiful family home that has been in the same family for 4 generations. The attention to details was wonderful and fun. There were vintage magazines covering many different years in the past, and even the medicine cabinets were full of vintage bottles, packages, etc. the bedroom and bedding were very comfortable and the decor was so pretty. Breakfast was delicious each morning using jams, juice, and other ingredients from their local citrus and stone fruit orchards. It was also a great location to visit Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon.

My wife and I recently visited on Thanksgiving weekend. The place is incredibly charming and our host was wonderful. We stayed there for two nights and the breakfasts were amazing both times. Our room was very clean and the bed, which was a memory foam mattress I believe, was soft and comfortable. We liked our host Monica so much in fact that we even played Rummikub on our last morning with her, observing Covid safe distancing and mask wearing of course, and we would definitely return in the future.

Absolutely lovely! Monica was a wonderful host! We enjoyed hearing the history of her charming home as well as the beautiful antiques. We stayed in the Sunset Room which was absolutely lovely and private with its own sitting room and bath. Breakfast was delicious and just enough to fuel us for a day of hiking in Sequoia. She recommended a wonderful restaurant for dinner (Monet’s in Exeter). We returned to Wicky Up and finished the eve with a lovely glass of port that she leaves out for her guests. Thank you Monica and Jack! We hope to be out on the west coast and in your area again!

We had a wonderful time staying at this quaint comfortable bed and breakfast. Monica was a wonderful host and she and Jack got us off to a good start with a delicious breakfast and a nice cup of coffee. They kept everything clean and practiced all the necessary hygiene procedures during this crazy time of Covid.

This place and the treatment we received was outstanding. The very special couple made our stay so pleasant. Great breakfast. Comfortable bed. In very close proximity to the great Sequoia Forest. Plotted in the midst of orange groves.

I had read all of the fantastic reviews of the Wicky-Up Ranch and was really looking forward to a couple of nights there. What everyone said about the owners being very welcoming and friendly is definitely true. You get the grand tour and a history of the place as soon as you arrive. Monica goes out of her way to provide you with information, tips for places to see and restaurants to visit, and anything you might need. At the same time, I found Monica a bit overbearing. During breakfast and just about any other time my family and I were just "hanging out" at the ranch, it seemed like I never got a moment alone to just sit and chat with my family. Breakfast was always a bit of an awkward affair, with no one wanting to talk freely and Monica desperately trying to keep everyone entertained. I'm not trying to sound mean, but it reminded me a bit of those awkward family visits when everyone sits around trying to be polite, but really just waiting for it to be over. I didn't find the experience very relaxing, because I'm more of a private person and would have preferred to have some time along with my family. Then again, this IS a bed and breakfast, so I suppose that guests shouldn't expect a whole lot of privacy.
The accommodations were average, in my opinion. Part of my family stayed in the "cottage" (aka shed) toward the back of the property. The cottage has a bunk bed with no mattresses. Instead, my parents had to sleep on old rubber foam that definitely had seen better days. My father almost sank to the ground inside the bed. The place is tiny, which is not such a big deal, but be prepared to be very cramped. There is no "maid service" in the cottage. However, Monica did come in and checked up on things, it seemed. For instance, the window-unit air conditioner miraculously kept getting turned back up to 80 degrees. My parents also said that some of their things had been moved. On the positive, there is a cool out-door shower and a nice private patio surrounded by roses and orange trees. That almost made it worth it.
The room my husband and I stayed in inside the house was fine. It did remind me a bit of a museum with all the old furniture, draperies, and pictures (as well as dolls). It seemed clean, so I can't complain. It was very hot in the house, though. Monica said she wouldn't turn the AC down more than to 79 degrees, which I found very uncomfortable. I also lost one of my personal towels I had brought, when whoever cleaned the bathroom decided that it must have been part of the Wicky-Up inventory.
The area is a bit remote, as someone else had mentioned. For places to eat, you can go the Orange Blossom Junction, which was great, or drive to Exeter. There are a few nice restaurants in Exeter, so that was great!
Overall, I was disappointed with my stay. Maybe if I hadn't read the amazing reviews, I would have had lower expectations and been fine, but given the price and the experience I had hoped for, I was definitely not happy.

This review made us very sad. We take our guests’ comfort very personally. Apparently I misread the family’s need for more privacy. Possibly this was because the elders were particularly social. I have taken this to heart and try to more correctly read the guests’ need for privacy. The elders were supposed to be in a different room, not in the tiny cottage. The mattresses in the cottage are high- density foam, not made for larger guests. Apparently they made a room change. The cottage is very small but very darling, in no way resembling a shed. There is no maid service, but occasionally on a very hot day I monitor the room temperature. I forgot to go back and re-adjust the temperature in the late afternoon. Apparently the guests were very heat sensitive. This is a 110-yr. old home with many high-end antiques and paintings of museum quality. The antique look defines our bed & breakfast. We do not have draperies as was stated. We try to allow more light into the inn. There was a misunderstanding about the air conditioning. In the summertime we usually keep the temperature much cooler than stated. We also show our guests the thermostat and tell them to feel free to change it. We must have had poor communication with these guests. We regret this and apologize.

I would like to give this 5 starts except that there were little things that were exagerated. The website says they accept pets, but they only accept pets in one room which is a former bunkhouse (called the Cottage) and it is much smaller than the photos. They say Bath and Body toiletries, but it was an opened, used bottle of bath gel. Also, when they speak of the outdoor shower, that is the only shower available to you if you stay in the "Cottage". IThey do provide robes, it is very spacious and private, but it is still outdoors. In the bunkhouse is a very small sink and toilet. On the other hand, the owner/hosts could not have been more welcoming, informative or kind. They have 2 large dogs and worked out a schedule so that our mini-doxie would not be overwhelmed by them.
The omellete breakfast was sensational and the dining room is wonderfully furnished. One day the table was an intimate for 4 and the next expanded to comfortable serve 6 guests. What a nice touch! Intimacy when needed, room when needed! Elegant china, silver and lovely fresh fruit each day.
The bed was very comfortable, and there was an individual room air conditioner with a remote that allowed you to set your own temperature. Due to the size and the bunk bed, this is much better for a family where the parents would sleep in the house and the kids would sleep in the bunk house.
The owner is 5th generation to the house and land and you can tell her love for it.
Jack and Monica (the owners) took time with each guest each morning (we stayed 2 nights) and made sure any questions they had were answered. We had roured the southern end of the park the day before, so Monice gave us a "short cut" thru the surrounding farm land that allowed us to tour the north end, and Kings Canyon (the waterfalls were running!) and so maximised our last day at the park.
We would stay again, but would come without our dog and stay in the house, the rooms seemsed like a better option.
