Booked for 3 nights- stayed 2. Didn't get a refund for 3rd night. Walls are paper thin. When neighbor wasn't swearing he was snoring. Other neighbor did a brake job until 10pm. Coffee pot didn't work. I realize it's the Economy Inn but it was hard to get comfortable. We won't be back.

After reading that Willows had such a high crime rate, we were a little concerned to find this motel was located in the downtown portion of the city as opposed to along the freeway. We were also concerned because we saw online that the motel was sold out and we were afraid there wouldn't be a place to park since we were towing a cargo trailer and would be arriving late. All of our fears were unfounded. The gentleman that checked us in was so nice. He came out to the parking lot and gave directions to my husband as to where he could park easily with the trailer and have an easy exit in the morning. It's definitely and older mom and pop type motel, but the room was clean, the shower was hot, and the AC worked great. There were only two pillows, so my husband asked if we could get two more. Again, the gentleman was so accommodating and brought them to our room with a smile. We had a very quiet night's sleep. Wish we hadn't eaten before arrival. There was a little bar/grill across the street and the motel host told us they had really good food. The number of cars there would indicate he was right. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

This is definitely a budget place, some basic amenities, but not a lot of frills. A couple miles off I-5, close to downtown shops, convenience store, a great local bar and eatery, but I cannot deal with bed bugs.

To the fewer people who gave this place mediocre to poor reviews: were you seriously expecting the amenities and accommodations of $150 to $200 rooms for only $60 to $70?!! Spic-and-span clean, comfortable bed, quiet and safe, with all the basics as well as kind, helpful staff deserves 10 stars at this price. We found this place after the total eclipse, and all the big next-to-the-freeway places from Redding to Williams were full. We expected it would be a dive, but it would be a safe place to catch some winks. Instead it was of all the above. Very happy. Yay!

Stayed here in winter while exploring nature reserve nearby, really well located for access to that Sacramento National Wildlife Reserve. Overall very good, room was basic but clean, and included mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Bed was comfortable, sheets and blankets were rather worn but they were fine for the price and the cover seemed new. (Being a budget traveler, I always have a sleep sack or bag with me.) The only concern I had was how long it took for the water to get hot in the shower, such a waste of precious water made me feel very guilty, they need to turn up the water heater to reduce water waste. (The sink tap got hot quickly, so maybe the shower controls are faulty and need fixing.) Good location away from the noisy interstate truck traffic, although the only place to eat within walking distance was a BBQ joint across the street that was very crowded with customers who all looked like hunters (dressed in camo, lots of big pick up trucks). Grocery store just a couple blocks away, and plenty of places to eat in Willows just minutes away by car.

This is your basic place, not fancy, but includes what matters most--clean, quiet, a comfortable bed, inexpensive, and with helpful and friendly owners. I stay here when I'm birdwatching in the winter months when the temperatures can dip below freezing at night. The heat is efficient and unlike a lot of in-room motel heaters, it's not superloud. The location near Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge is perfect. The managers are friendly and helpful. This is my go-to place for overnight birdwatching trips.

Professional, honest, clean, friendly, earnest. This place is reminiscent of the good old-fashioned, family-run motel we would stay at during family road-trips. The owners are on-site, and offer a warm welcome and great local recommendations. The location is in a quiet neighborhood, about a half mile from the I-5 exit. Which means they're away from all the gas stations, fast food joints, other motels and noise right at the off-ramp. I liked being a few blocks away from that commotion to have a relaxing, quiet sleep. I found them and pricing on TripAdvisor, but called to make the reservation. The owner carefully explained that non-smoking rooms are a few dollars more. He was also honest that the motel provides simple accommodations. I booked via phone and stayed in a non-smoking room, which was still very, very cheap. The room was in excellent shape - clean and tidy furniture, linens, bathroom, and the cable tv, wifi and a/c all worked great. I would happily pass up an impersonal luxury hotel (not that there are any in town) for a clean, comfortable, welcoming, homey, quiet stay again here. Highly recommend!

I booked and paid for this through Hotel .com. When I arrived they wanted to give me a smelly smoking room. Apparently that's what the website assigned. Even though there were non smoking rooms available that clearly weren't going to be rented out at 10pm, the proprietor wouldn't let me change rooms without $12 up charge. Check in took about half an hour. The owner went on and on about why I should book directly instead of via a website that charges him a commission. The Key to the door didn't work. Late check in, early rising next morning, tired, I really didn't want all these issues and delays. There was a refrigerator but it kept the room only slightly cooler than room temperature. I suppose it saves a few cents a year in electricity not to set it cold. Otherwise , the room seemed clean enough. No bugs visible. Safe area. Quiet. But there are other motels in the area I would try next time.

I have stayed there several times over the years. The owners are friendly, the rooms are clean. It is very basic, but great for an inexpensive room while visiting Thunderhill Raceway. I like the location too, more in town than on I5.

The Economy Inn is an older establishment but cozy. The room was very comfortable. It also had microwave, small refrigerator, and coffee maker. The room was very clean. The management was nice and helpful about this area. I would stay here again.
