Okay like most of the reviews before mine I will have to say it depends on what you are looking for in your travels. It is a quaint castle with some nice views of the surrounding countryside. It is close to Florence and some of the other highlights of Tuscany. The staff was very helpful when they were there. We...

If you are a tourist, this is not the "hotel" for you. But if you are a traveler, if you are looking to see and do new things and experience new places. This is one of the most perfect experiences you can image. No TVs, no phone, and precious little internet (only in the big dinning room which is used...

This was the worst experience I've ever had while traveling. The toilet was broken when we got there, and the shower broke the next day. The "staff" is only there for 4 hours each day, and then only some days. You're expected to bring your own toilet paper and apparently a lighter for the stove as well, which never worked...

Stayed here for 6 nights in Feb 2016 as part of package through Great Value Vacations. The hotel is a castle in the countryside of Tuscany, situated up winding mountain roads. Its very secluded and the only thing that will wake you up are birds chirping. There are rooms in the castle and some cabin style homes around the property,...

My wife and I stayed here via a Groupon Travel deal in Feb 2016. We flew into Rome, drove ~3hrs to the castle, and had a great time. I'd wholeheartedly recommend the castle as a place to stay, but it's important to understand what it is and isn't. The castle is a beautiful, large stone and brick castle, divided up...

We arrived in Tuscany just as the low season arrived and we had the castle to ourselves. While it is possible to get here from Florence by bus, our travel agent recommended that we take a hire car to ensure that we could get around the countryside. It was a good tip as the restaurant was closed (except for the...

This is a fantastic castle located around half an hour from Florence, the decor is fantastic and the scenery around the area is beautiful. The only problem that may arise is having to carry suitcases up a steep gravel road and possibly stairs if you have a high room, otherwise the stay was great.

We stayed in unit 1B which was big enough for 8 and had a large kitchen/living room with a fireplace. (that is important in November in Tuscany). We arrived late and the caretaker waited for us. Our unit was not part of the actual castle which bummed out the kids as they wanted to stay in a real castle. The...

Booked as a last minute family holiday, we decided to stay in rural Tuscany, rather than the hustle and bustle of Florence or Pisa. Trivago found the Castello Di Montegufoni (Castle of Montegufoni to you and i...) We flew into Pisa and collected our car and drove the 70km (50mins appx.) to the castle where we were warmly greeted by...

We spent only 2 nights but would have liked to stay longer. What a great experience! Room Montegufoni 29 was huge with a perfect balcony overlooking the countryside. Be prepared to walk up stairs. After driving from Florence; the first thing we did was grab a bottle of wine and headed to the pool. The grounds are beautiful. The employees...
