My wife and I and another couple came up for a one night stay on Amtrak in the middle of a blizzard the weekend before last. Cedar House had warned us to be aware that local commercial transportation would be problematic. We were fortunate to get a ride to the hotel with relatives of a fellow passenger. From that point...

My husband and I stayed here for a quick ski weekend with our 2 boys (13 and 9). The rooms are really small and not all that interesting which is surprising because the place itself is really beautiful. But we weren't there to stay in the room. One tiny hot tub for entire property... We stayed right near it which...

I have stayed at Cedar House Sport Hotel several times in both winter and summer, so obviously I like the hotel. Some of the rooms are small, but since I am mostly out skiing or biking, small rooms are not a problem. And, many rooms are large enough for two persons to have plenty of space. Happy hour is a...

Great hotel! Stayed here to squeeze a few days skiing at Squaw in prior to a San Fran conference. Arrived late after mudslide debacle on I80. Rooms are up to date, if a touch small, but very european. A small lodge meets a Dwell-like style. Lots of wood. Great beds, in room fridge, keurig, modern bathroom fixtures. Reasonable rates, very...

We spent 2 nights at this beautiful boutique hotel. The staff is very courteous & helpful. Rooms located in 3 buildings are nice. Buffet breakfast is included. Stella restaurant located on the property is a gem! Plan to return soon.

There was a major mud slide which shut down I-80 in both directions, requiring a long and slow detour around it. Over 7 hours according to google from the Bay Area and they refused a refund or even a room credit. Poor service, thankful for Amex who takes care of these things for clients when businesses want to alienate clients....

We stayed at the Cedar Sport House Hotel for an overnight ski vacation. We usually stay at the Sugar Bowl Lodge because you can't beat the ski in-ski out accommodation but they had upped their price to over $500 for the holiday period per night. I researched and stumbled upon Cedar Sport House and am so happy I found it!...

I recently lost my husband - our family decided to travel for the Christmas holidays to be together. We went back to Cedar House where we had visited a few years before. The facility, staff, food, amenities were excellent. The owners, Patty and Jeff as well as the General Manager Stefanie could not have been more kind and accommodating to...

This was our first stay at the Cedar House Sport Hotel and really enjoyed ourselves. We stayed here for a couples anniversary trip (sans kids) and very much enjoyed our accommodations. We highly recommend. The hotel is styled after what I would call Mountain Modern with a big focus on the environment. It's clear a lot of effort was made...

This hotel is great! Staff is very friendly and helpful. They give you a list of all the great things to do around the area. Central location near the cute town of Truckee. Rooms are very well appointed and very differently furnished much more on the European flavor. They offer a wonderful buffet breakfast. Being a gluten free eater there...
