This is one property where you get totally immersed with nature and enjoy it in its Raw form and yet with all the comforts of a resort. This is a very rare combination to get which Tamara offers. View from the room you don't see any civilization, any buildings or car only Wilderness. To top this, the staff at Tamara gives you a personalized service and make you feel important. Would like to specially mention Amjith (activity manager) and Mr.Sakthi(Restaurant Manager) who were always taking care of us. A special word of appreciation for Neeraj Chaudhry(Executive chef) who was outstanding in his hospitality and made us look forward to every meal. We kept troubling him with our food requirements and wish list and he was always very happy to oblige. His personal touch was amazing. The entire staff at the restaurant was top-notch and comparable to any top brands such as Taj or Oberoi. Will definitely go back.…
Its a great place to be with family. We had a perfect holiday to relax. Hospitality.. Food.. Cottage everything was perfect. I congratulate the team - Bidappa, Chef Sana, Manager Mr Anand & GM. One of our most memorable holiday stays.
The Tamara resort is located in Coorg and is heavenly. The rooms open upto a wonderful view of the mist and cloud covered landscape. The rooms are luxurious. The resort has a lot of activities planned for each day of the week. We were there for 3 nights and it was wonderful. There are.tennis and badminton courts and a HEATED pool. The resort has close to 30 cottages well spaced so you have a sense of seclusion and privacy. It offers you plantation walks and lots of other activities. Well the crown I would say apart from the climate, surroundings is definitely the Falls restaurant, the staff here is extremely hospitable with the Chefs taking rounds of the buffet, Mr Shakthi the manager at the restaurant, is involved himself, leading by example and making the guests comfortable and welcome. On Thursdays and Saturdays there is live music ( not loud, rather low key ) in the restaurant. The food is made catering to the number of guests with ensures freshness and flavours. The resort is a wonderful way to just be with your close ones, mebbe a book or just a walk / hike all by yourself. It is definitely a luxurious and pleasent stay nestled in the hills of Coorg. Would definitely visit again.…
Excellent location, 184 acres of coffee plantation with fantastic cottages. well organised treks great amenities and staff that goes out of its way to make the guests feel comfortable and special. Everything about this place oozes luxury with attention to detail. Right from the location to the upkeep of the property, the attitude of the people who work there, attention to detail - everything is just top-notch. There are plenty of activities to do in and around the property along with good indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Overwhelmed by the hospitality and service by each and every one. Well - for the good things first. The cottage was fantastic and the property was very calming. The air itself had a fresh, relaxing nature with every breath. We had ayurvedic massages which was also amazing. The yoga session, morning trek were equally enjoyable as the instructors were very knowledgeable and pleasant. The main challenge was with the reception team and apart from that the food choices weren’t great. The minute we entered there was a senior person who was scolding the receptionist and giving some on-the-job training right in front of us. And there were lot of mishaps in getting the buggy(golf cart transportation). When we had to leave on the last day, we were waiting in front of our cottage with all the luggage. The buggy arrived just in front of us after a long time. And then there was this other guest who just hopped in and took it. No apologies, no request - nothing. She felt it her right to do anything she pleased with no care for others. The buggy person also took her and informed he will be back in another 5 mins. We felt like complete idiots waiting there with all the luggage to just see the buggy come and leave. Having paid a lofty 50k for 2 night stay, this left such a bad taste at the end. And the food was a bit too North Indian and monotonous. It could have been more mild in spices and rich in taste. However the breakfast was great with tons of options. On the whole, it was a mixed experience for us due to the hospitality.…
This is a phrase we heard many times in Tamara. More importantly, that commitment was invariably delivered in high quality, enthusiastic service. We are two senior citizens over 70 years old visiting Tamara with our US based daughter. Would it be possible for us to have 2 cottages reasonably close to the restaurant so we could walk there? Yes, it is possible. My wife’s digestion is very delicate. She cannot eat anything with chillies, garam masala and pepper, lentils, salt, more than a touch of oil. Can something be cooked for her? Yes, it can. The staff took exceptional care to ensure she enjoyed a range of specially crafted Indian, Chinese and Continental dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every resort has a special beauty. Tamara, nestled within a coffee plantation, sheltered by tall trees, is surrounded by colourful Hibiscus, Lilies, Anthuriums, Angel’s Trumpets, Birds of Paradise and, most beautiful of all, the scarlet Ginger Torch. The cottages are five star standard, offering breathtaking views of rolling hills. One can take long walks within the property which stretches over three levels of beauty, serenity and quietude. There are plantation walks, treks, guided yoga sessions, tennis and a heated pool to satisfy the more athletic. Every hotel delivers hospitality. A resort like Tamara has to deliver the special experience of a special place which remains with one as a happy memory. Such an experience can be delivered only by people. The people of Tamara, from the General Manager to the staff at Reception, Housekeeping and Security; the Chef and staff at the restaurant; were professional, prompt, friendly, and enthusiastic in anticipating our needs and responding to them. One could sense they were happy doing what they were doing. We would like thank every one of them. We mention here only the persons with whom we came into contact. Shan, Dinesh and Sandeep in the restaurant who really went out of their way for us. Dinesh took the care to plan every meal in advance with her. Preethy and Lakhrani at Reception who arranged everything for us. Somanna at the Verandah who showed us the uniqueness of each of the trees and flowers in the plantation tour. Prashant, who enlightened us about Yoga and Meditation. We especially liked the idea of allowing each guest to plant a sapling as a reminder of a happy visit. We planted two saplings and, hopefully, we will return.…
The Tamara, Coorg is a little paradise nestled in the misty hills of Madikeri. We stayed here for three nights and about 2.5 days (early May 2022) and wished we never had to leave. This is a beautiful Balinese styled resort, completely in harmony with its natural environment, where one wakes up to morning dew, misty hills, the twittering of birds and the sweet scent of crisp fresh air. The Chalet style rooms on stilts with luxurious large windows are a delight. Enjoyed the in-house aromatic organic toiletries, especially the handsoap! Foodies looking to savour the local cuisine are in for a treat as the buffets include a fabulous range of South Indian and Coorgi cuisine. The mutton curries were incredible! The staff at The Tamara is what made our trip truly special. Sonam at Reception, our guides Ashwaith and Madan, everyone was involved in making The Tamara an unforgettable experience. …
It’s been an immense pleasure Tamara Coorg to be your guest ! It was a complete happiness to be around amid the beauty of nature of abundance! . Hospitality is just remarkable! Dr Sunita every person in the restaurant the trek every second of the experience has been remarkable phenomenal! Thanks once again 🙏
We spent two night at The Tamara in May, 2022. The place is lovely and the service is good. Though it rained a lot during our visit, we enjoyed our stay. One should go with the idea of just relaxing and enjoying nature. The view of the mountains and greenery from the room was excellent. Several activities like the morning walks on trails could not be done due to rains. Would highly recommend this place.
One of the brilliant places have visited recently.. worth stay and every place inside this is so well crafted designed and with lot of esthetic sense.. the staff are at their best service and one thing you will see common here is the lovely guest management , thoughtfulness, fast work and by the time you leave they know your tastes, preferences and the need...the resort has some lovely scenery and spend more outdoors than inside ..
