Hotel's Favourite
I have read some rave reviews about The Tamara Coorg - Hospitality and Shruti Shibulal from my #socialmedia #influencer friends and came across their Instagram reels. The property always looked stunning, radiating #luxuryhospitality with a touch of class. Recently I had an opportunity to conduct a #leadershipdevelopment workshop in the property and I reached the day before yesterday in the afternoon. I had dropped a line to the General Manager with vast international experience Saswata Banerjee, better known as SAS in the hospitality circles. I received a call from an unknown number, a polite but excited voice greeted me with my expected time of arrival. I was a 100 km away, could feel the warmth of that voice over phone. Two hours later, he welcomed me with a warm hug in his 120 acres, 56 rooms resort. A golf cart took me to my cottage, just after I finished a hot cup of jaggery coffee ☕️. On the day of the workshop I needed some stationery and some printouts 🖨. I requested him to help me with those. His office was next to the conference room where I was teaching a cohort. I saw them neatly stacked on the table the moment I entered the room. The place gave me a kind of comfort, an old-worldly charm of a coffee planter's bungalow with modern amenities and a superfast internet. The balcony had a sunbed, an unreal view of the coffe estate and I could clearly hear a lovesick urdu-speaking bird 🐦 chirping, "Ishq, Ishq" for hours. The place seriously allows you to bring back your power of imaginations and your "left it somewhere" creativity. SAS was genuinely keen on my #feedbacks on the service which I shared with him in absolute candor. His kitchen team, housekeeping manager and the front office team met me in turns, to take note of my points. There is brilliant ritual in this property. The team bids a fond farewell to the guests during the checkout in the porch next to the reception. Suddenly I felt a lump in my throat, like the one you feel while leaving behind a home 🏡. I got down from the car and requested the team to join me for a quick group photo 📸. The team obliged me, happily. You won't find them much over the social media. They share some stunning visuals, some delectable recipes and they pack some unforgettable #customerexperience for you. #personalized #hospitality #hoteliers #bespoketravel

Response from saswata banerjee, General Manager at The Tamara Coorg
Responded 4 Oct 2023
Dear Mr. Ray, It was genuinely a pleasure to know you in person. Thank you so much for the amazing feedback and highlighting all the small details that made your short stay extra special. Your detailed review helps all travelers out there to have an idea of how a holiday at The Tamara, Coorg can be. And certainly loved your angle of the "ishq ishq" birds. It's amazing. The team loved your presence and as much as we know you visited The Tamara Coorg to train a team of corporate off site team and your stay was short, but we sincerely wish that we get to welcome you back to your home amidst nature , soon with your family. Warm Regards sas saswatab@thetamaracoorg.com #thetamaralife #thetamaracoorg

Stay at Tamara was absolutely splendid!! I planned for a birthday of my fiancee. Mr. Chengappa - Relationship manager and their team were very accommodating and extremely helpful for all our needs and they made our stay very memorable. Property is so peaceful, private amid nature. Each and every details are so carefully and beautifully crafted. Tours were great. Food was sumptuous. Hoping to visit soon for a longer stay very soon… Cheers!! :)

It has been an excellent experience with the staff and service. And the location in the midst of forests and platations is real heaven. The coffee tour and Blossoms to Blooms was very well handled by young Bindushree. Would like to give a 10/10 to the chef and buggie staff too. Will definitely come back next year 👍🏼🙏🏼🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I have had the pleasure to stay in this facility for 3 days. I booked it because it was close to my place of interest, because it had good reviews and because the pictures looked pretty. Little did I know how much I underestimated this resort! The combination of tranquility, breathtaking views from your "room", the omnipresent luxury, selection of superb activities, the cuisine, the actual living forest all around you and overall hospitality and service simply cannot be described by words. One must experience it first-hand to fully appreciate this gem of a property. This property is situated literally inside a functioning coffee plantation, where you can explore the coffee making process from blossom to brewing (and roast / grind coffee beans yourself!). That is only one of the few exceptional activities offered, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The plantation is huge, and so is the resort itself. So of course they drive you with a buggy, whenever you are not in a mood for a little walk. Your "room" is actually a cottage, suspended above tree foliage, with a sense of complete privacy, even though a next cottage is nearby. The view has depth which can only be experienced by the seashore, or at high altitude. The connection to nature is taken very seriously here, and can also be felt intensely everywhere - whether you are relaxing on the terrace of your cottage, or walking to the pool and spa, or just having dinner. Talking about dining. The selection and variety of meals is astonishing, and so is the flavor. The whole dining experience is wonderful - the taste, the drinks & cocktails, the fact that you are actually dining above the waterfall, prompt and kind service offered by every staff member (waiters and managers alike). I would especially like to spotlight Mr.Bishu, who was serving us for the duration of our stay. He was always professional, very kind, attentive to all our needs, and so polite. I would also like to spotlight chef Mr.Sanjaya and his whole team, who worked so hard to make our stay as pleasant and tasty as possible. We even had the pleasure to participate in a 'chocolate moulding' activity, where Mr.Sanjaya guided us through the whole process with kindness, genuine interest and professional tips and advice. Very much appreciated, we had so much fun! And those delicious handmade sweets which we created by our own hands were only icing on the cake. We also had a massage. Let me just say, it was not your ordinary massage. Sitting in the chair in fresh air, facing the forest and flowers, and listening to chirping birds was extraordinary. And of course it was complemented with gentle music, smell of aromatic oils and a super relaxing massage. Service and attitude of every single staff member (whether waiters, spa personnel, buggy drivers, receptionist, pool caretakers, or any other) was the same - they were all so very kind, respectful and helpful. I could not get enough of this resort and the multitude of experiences it offers. It was worth every penny I paid for the stay, and much more.

The spa experience at Elevation was really good. Yogesh is the best masseuse you can get! He really knows how to massage every muscle in your body. At the end, it feels very surreal and relaxed. This was a truly amazing experience!

Property: The minute you step into the huge 184 acre property, you will be awwwed with the location.. you will instantly fall in love with the lush green forest amidst which this property is situated in. The wooden style tree houses will certainly take your breath away. The huge balcony and the never ending view of green mountains and trees will make you want to never leave the place.. Service/ housekeeping: After reading so many reviews we were super excited to visit here and it did meet our expectations mostly. The biggest problem we faced was the availability of buggy. This being a huge property it is difficult to go everywhere on foot so you ll have to wait for buggy everytime you want to step out of your villa. Inspite of pre booking the buggy’s we almost always had to wait for 25-30mins for the buggy. This meant we were reaching late for all the meals and activities. They need to do a major work in ensuring the buggy availability on time. We had an unexpected visitor in our villa twice. A huge rat. And although we can understand that such incidents are unavoidable even after the utmost care and precaution, what was disappointing was that after spotting the rat and informing the housekeeping about it they arrived only after almost 40minutes each time. This meant we were outside the villa until someone came and got the rat out. Most things in the room were all non-inclusive and when we saw a few guests receive some fruits, we were told it was complementary only on request. When we requested for the same, they gave the fruits in a carry bag like it is been given to some roadside people and not like it was given to guests. The restaurant staff was too moody and their behaviour varied depending on the crowd. Food: The spread of food here will spoil you gor choices and it is indeed delicious. The variety is vast and you will never run out of options. The local Kodagu food was a cherish too. Activities: they have a variety of paid and inclusive list of activities to do. 1. We did star gazing and the experience was amazing. 2. plantation walk was too boring and tedious . The number of people were so many that half of them had no clue what was happening 3. The indoor and outdoor games are amazing and you will never be bored of trying new games 4. We also did a cooking class and the entire experience was just wow.. In all the experience of stay was good and with proper service it would have been an unforgettable experience.. the rat and buggy experience was very disappointing. Would like to give our special thanks to for making our stay comfortable Satyendra kumar- logistic (buggy) Kunal- star gazing Ashwath- star gazing Mandanna- engineering Shilpa- restaurant Biddappa- restaurant Sanjay- chef Rani- housekeeping Shashank- housekeeping Sanjay- housekeeping

The tamara coorg , the only thing that comes to mind is the unbelievable hospitality, warmth ever smiling faces to deliver their best in its sense of utmost comfort. Throughout the journey from airport to airport,Ms Sharvani from tamara took utmost care of us through constant messaging and overseeing our well being namely whr to stop for lunch the route to be taken to approach tamara right till we landed at tamara. Truly touched by her sensitivity. The entire staff was extremely friendly throughout and not once did v notice a face without smiling. It makes one feel very welcoming and comfortable. Service to the room and buggies to ferry you were at its very best. The staff at the restaurant were constantly ready to serve and deliver the best. You name it and one has it…. Dinesh is one of them. Extremely cordial And a friendly person. A memorable trip with an urge to visit again….only because of the hospitality which anyone and everyone would like to experience .. Thank u to one and all at the Tamara Coorg
