We went and had a nice experience. Everybody kept telling us we needed to bring a golf cart but with bicycles and a pickup it wasn't necessary. Overall it looked like it was better back in the day but still was nice enough for us to come back. Because the cost is pretty high at $70 a night we will...

C-Bad ... quick update; since new ownership/management has taken over (August 2014) the greens have been repaired on the mini golf course and more infrastructure improvements and upgrades coming. We are focused on delivering good value in outdoor experience at Vail Lake and hope you give us another shot when you are considering your next camping getaway. Thanks!

To begin with, the address will not come up on your GPS and the coordinates are incorrect. It is listed on highway 79 South, but instead the true address is on Temecula Pkwy. So we began our trip a bit lost. The park is huge, with plenty of good size RV spots. The scenery is nice, staff OK. They advertise...

This place is a gem in a sea of parking lot camp grounds of Southern California, vail lake has a really nice spread. Do your homework though... Not all spaces are created equal and there are many amazing spots, equally there are some really bad ones. My favorite being #71 situated at the end of a culdesac perched up top...

We were introduced to this campground by my family. It's rustic, quiet and pretty well maintained. If you own a rzr or arctic cat type UTV, you can bring it here! The sites have full hook ups and a fire ring. During the summer they have a waterslide and a couple pools to choose from. There are also two coin-op...

My family and I have been coming to Vail for Halloween for about 8 years! It keeps getting better and better. Great trick or treating for the kids, haunted hay ride, haunted house, music, amazing food, and overall, great energy! Vail is the best place for my family together because it is such a safe environment. Truly, we feel perfectly...

Caught roughly about 13 big white bass and 3 GOOD size bluegill between the two of us! The wind was super crazy over the weekend but surprisingly made all the fishes hungry! Although as exciting as it might sound, fishing in this resort ONLY for catch & release, unless the fish you caught is swallowing the whole hook! So after...

We stayed in the "Oaks" section over the fourth of July holiday. When we arrived on Wednesday night, the campground looked beautiful. Lots of trees where we were and it was relatively quiet - but it was also pretty late. The next morning, the campers came in by the droves, which was totally expected and fine...but what we did not...

We stayed up on the Chardonnay Mesa overlooking the lake. It's the first right after the art gallery, then take the first left. The only problem we had was being put in the wrong spot and the next day having the guests pull up to inform us. We had to pack up and move to another spot. Nice guy who...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Vail Lake RV Resort features 467 full hook up RV sites with 30 and 50 AMP power. The property is adjacent to Vail Lake with great Largemouth Bass fishing and boating. Vail Lake has miles of challenging and scenic mountain bike trails (best suited for intermediate and advanced riders)along with miniature golf course, horseshoe pits, bocce ball and more. The majority of our RV camping sites are located among a large grove of mature oak trees offering shaded areas for relaxing. We are minutes away from the wineries and amenities of the Temecula Valley but the setting is rustic and natural with views of the surrounding mountain region. Currently we do not offer tent camping at Vail Lake but we may be offering some tent sites in the near future. ... more   less
