We rolled into the Golden Hills Motel on a foggy night. The entrance was shrouded in mist and there was one lonely car parked behind the motel as we ambled up to room 119. The room key said it all. The digits '119' written on a piece of paper scotch taped to the key badge. We held our breath and went in. The TV was a 30 year old Zenith brand and every other channel had different levels of noise distortion. The bathroom was creepy and the sheets dry and scratchy. My wife and I were inspired to start a rough draft of our last will and testament, confident we would be murdered by some ax wielding madman in our sleep. We made sure both door locks were securely fastened before bedding down for the night. We actually laughed ourselves to sleep at the absurdity of it all. Surprisingly, we awoke alive and left as soon as possible. We dropped the key in the key drop and burned rubber, feeling thankful during the holiday season. p.s. If you're shooting a low budget horror flick, this setting is perfect!…
Terrible place. I should have read reviews before we got there. Gratefully we were able to cancel the 2nd night and only stay 1 night. Shower was scary. Place is awful. The sheets were clean at least. AWFUL
I arrived after 10 pm for a bike ride in Sept 2016. While it reminded me of The Twilight Zone, my room was clean. I used it to sleep a few hours, then checked out. It suited my purpose --- saved $$!!!
Made a reservation weeks in advance, called to update my information and was told I didn't have one even though I gave them my card information, had confirmed check-in/out times, etc. They claimed this never happened. Dishonest. Left me without a place to stay on a holiday weekend crossing country.
Like staying at a Motel 6 Minus 100. PITCH A TENT. If you don't avoid it's your own fault. Right on the highway so it seems like you are on the sidewalk trying to sleep next to the road. Old Old Old. What few sticks of furniture was bashed in. Cold 19 Degrees outside, heater did not cycle. We put heat on lowest of low, just kept on heating on low. Had to open the window in the bathroom to let out the heat. I don't think it could be upgraded to a kennel.
Booked a room here because it claimed to be 0.5 miles from the town centre - it's actually in the middle of nowhere and I had to drive 2 miles into town to get food after a five hour drive from Vegas. Room was shabby and cold, even though it was warm outside. Windows were single glazed and rattled constantly, due to the main road being just yards from the motel and traffic was heavy. We had to change rooms when we found the door could be opened from the outside even when locked with the room key. No security at all. Second room very similar to the first although the door was lockable so that was some improvement. Bathroom was scruffy with thin towels, the shower was so unpleasant we were afraid to use it. Slept badly because of traffic noise, rattling windows, cold and nervousness at being in such a horrible place. We left as early as possible next morning, couldn't get away fast enough. The room was vastly overpriced for what we got. We stayed here to avoid having to stop at Bakersfield but that would have been a better option. Avoid at all costs.…
My husband was looking for a deal when we found this rat hole. The pillows were flat and inside the pillow slip were "brown" pillows. They should have been thrown away years ago. I wouldn't make a pet lay on them. The sheets hadn't been changed., not crisp and clean. We left after looking it over and requested a refund., the manager had to call his boss and after some talking back and forth in what I can only say is a foreign language., the boss said we had to pay for a night. wanting to get as far away from there as possible and take a shower we paid 64.00 and left. I will make all our hotel reservations from now on.
