We had a long weekend planned in the Tahoe area. First time there. We did not want to be in a big hotel or among the casino's so we chose sight unseen the Chaney House on the lake's west shore. Set back with a view of the lake, this bed and breakfast was a delight - amplified by the fact...

Quaint & Quirky B&B - Generous Hosts(5pm Wine, Nibbles & Chat with Hosts & Other Guests) - Everything one could require & Very Clean. Only Comment I would make is the Bed Linen could do with Updating(Sheets seen better days). The Host was required to cater for a Vegetarian in Our Party & So All Guests found themselves having to...

Chaney House is a beautiful, rustic place complete with antiques, ancestral photos and dark, rich woods/carpets and colors. The House, which is directly across the highway from Lake Tahoe, is tucked under tall pine trees and has some antiques like an old gas pump and wood out- buildings. Hosts Gary & Lori are friendly and helpful with learning the area....

Gary gave us a warm welcome to his bed and breakfast which is very much a warm family home with lots of historical pieces and photos from times gone by at Tahoe. We enjoyed chatting to delightful fellow guests over a glass of wine, as well as watching the Milky Way from Gary's private pier. He gave us lots of...

Great experience with Gary's help. Gary was very resourceful and provided us with greatly appreciated advice on where/what to do. Breakfast and afternoon wine was good. Our room had a great view of the early morning sunrises (although the windows were low). The pier was amazing! The only downside was the occasional traffic noise.

We decided at the last minute for a weekend getaway for our 33rd anniversary and found the Chaney House. Gary and Lori mad us feel at home and very welcome in their house. We had a fantastic and relaxing time. The breakfast was wonderful with fresh fruit, pastries, and a main dish. The sunrises were amazing and sunsets on the...

This was our first visit to Lake Tahoe, and we were just knocked out by the location, hosts and standard of Chaney House. Our hosts, Lori and Gary could not have been better. Gary even sent me details of scenic routes to Chaney House from Mariposa. The wine and nibbles in the evening were a nice touch, especially as our...

We've been to the Chaney House 3 times over the last several years and enjoy it a little more with each visit. Built in the style of the Hellman-Ehrman mansion at Sugar Pine point, the house itself is something to behold. Add to that hosts that truly care and do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable, a private...

Possibly the best location and property at Tahoe. Gorgeous home with a great host. Pier and beach. Words can't describe this home, Possibly the greatest stone home at the lake. The Hoast has lived there for over 40 years.

We had not stayed in a B&B that had the rooms in the main house & thankfully Gary & Lori were there to help us through the stay. They make the stay wonderful. We stayed in Russels Suite & the only way up is on a spiral stairwell. Learned that while easy to go up & down, it is not...
