We were pleasantly surprised by this lodge and the restaurant! The hotel is sound proof (our room was over the bar and couldn't hear a peep) and clean. The room had updated furnishings and was charming. The staff was helpful and kind. A bottle of...More
This is a fabulous place to bring a book, a bottle of wine, and just sit and read and drink. That's for those not choosing to ski. And we don't. Too old. The sheer beauty of this location overlooking Lake Tahoe is worth the trip...More

The beaches consist of a bit of sand into the rocks & the water is mostly VERY cold, as it is an alpine lake. Resort located right on the water with a dock for the boats use in summertime. Depending upon the time of year, you could easily need a full wet suit (winter!) or at least a vest/jacket other times of the year. This is not warm water....There are some nice beaches in the town of Tahoe City (Commons Beach) as well as beaches located at state parks, too.
