We stayed at the Gunn House over new year's eve and it was a good experience. The hotel has a lot of character and the breakfast was great. The egg and sausage casserole and the made to order waffles were excellent. Breakfast in general was well done. There was 4 of us in the room with 2 queen beds.

We wanted a room with good morning light and got room 9 a large beautiful one, with a roomy bathroom. I felt at home immediately. It is in the front and we soon learned that even on a lovely holiday the rowdy gold miners' descendants are keeping to tradition by noisily drag racing up and down the street, boom boxes...

We're a young couple in our 30s and thought at first glance that this hotel would appeal more to our parents or grandparents tastes, but we loved it as well. It is historic, and we were prepared for at least some amenities to not function, but everything worked fine. We had comfortable beds, plenty of pillows, granite counters in the...

We've been several times over the years, and will always come back to the Gunn House. The value vs. the cost is phenomenal. We stay with a large group over a 3 day weekend during the holidays, and gather on Friday night in their breakfast room for cards, eating and drinking. We have a great time! There are a few...

This hotel is a great example of what all independent hotels should be like. From the lady on reception to breakfast and check out everything was perfect. The room was very clean, and lovely in a quaint way. The breakfast was lovely and all home made. Great location in the town, free parking. This was the best hotel we stayed...

I have stayed at the Gunn House 4 times now and each time has been lovely. My room has always been clean and the staff is always friendly. I prefer to stay there because of the family feel it gives. I appreciate that I don't feel like I am staying in a hotel or a chain. It is very apparent...

A few of my family members have been staying at the Gunn House for years. This was my first time coming with them for the Sonora Annual Christmas Parade. I fell in love with the place. Our family had several rooms, mine was on the second floor in the front. (Perfect for watching the parade). The room was large, 2...

Far too many speed through this lovely gold county area. Here you'll find all that Sonoma and Napa has to offer in great wine production, at half the price. So it goes for Gunn House. The name itself conjures images of the rough western gold era, and you do get the big porch and open front lawn! Upsides: Lovely clean...

My partner and I recently spent a lovely weekend at the Gunn House Hotel in Sonora. We loved our stay! The hotel is very historic. It was built in 1850 and over the years has been a private home, a hospital, a newspaper printer and of course a hotel. The rooms, parlor, office and hallways are filled with antiques. The...

We recently stayed at the Gunn House for 2 nights as a base for visiting Yosemite which was approx a 1hr and a half drive away. Once we had checked in Tracy (the manager) was very helpful with providing us with information regarding where to eat for lunch and dinner. Would recommend the lighthouse deli for lunch and Christopher's the...
