Hotel's Favourite
We loved this small hotel with just 6 rooms. The room was large and beautifully appointed with a large marble bathroom, jacuzzi tub, marble fireplace, balcony, high ceilings and wood floors. We love the architectural elements of both the room and the facility with beautiful woodwork, marble, and inlaid wood floors. The bed was great, as were the linens. All in all, a classy, romantic getaway and good value. Our rate also included a free wine tasting in the tasting room downstairs. The wines were excellent.

Excellent location to enjoy Sonoma Valley , right in the middle of town, walking distance to restaurants , coffee shops and tastings rooms. This is a boutique hotel with just six rooms, all with small balconies, we had one facing the main plaza. Beautifully appointed room, very comfortable king size bed, a fireplace and a jacuzzi in the room as well as a mini fridge, large size bathroom with double sink and separate shower. I believe they put a lot of effort in decorating the rooms beautifully. The whole property was clean, especially during this pandemic times. I would make some suggestion regarding the room: to upgrade their power outlets to serve the new electronic gadgets (smart phones, tablets, etc), to have two nights stands in the room and maybe to provide some glasses for drinking water. Parking was easy behind the hotel.
All these minor details missing were made up by the EXCELLENT service of their personal, especially Maggie , the general manager, who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We had a wine tasting in the hotel lounge and Maggie was so knowledgeable and passionate about their wine, it was a true pleasure to talk to her. She even made reservations for us with another of their wineries, Ledson Winery, and gave us recommendations for restaurants and more wineries in the area. Thank you very much for your hospitality. We will be back soon.

+1
We loved our time at the Ledson Hotel. Everything was perfect. The decor was traditional, beautiful and detailed. We appreciated the change from typical modern hotels. The customer service was outstanding. Never had an issue getting bottled water and the in -room coffee makers were perfect. Room had a mini fridge and plush robes and linens. There was ample light on the bathrooms as makeup mirrors were on each wall in addition to the overhead lights. The fireplace was a cozy touch! This hotel is perfectly located on the square and shops, tastings and restaurants are easily within walking distance. Though the restaurant was closed, the Zina lounge provided a wonderful and relaxing tasting for us (complimentary with your stay). We also booked our complimentary tasting with the Ledson winery. Stunning property and fabulous experience. Thank you Maggie and staff for making our trip unforgettable.

The Ledson is the top rated hotel in Sonoma but, in truth, it’s not a fully fledged hotel. We were delighted with our accommodation and its fabulous situation on the Town square that allowed for great people watching from our balcony.
The problem is that there are no staff on site from 6pm each evening and the rooms are only serviced every third day. Our pre-arrival email spoke of “creating safe physical distancing for you and our staff and therefore limiting our time in your room”. When we asked for our room to be refreshed at 3.30pm on the day after our arrival, we were told that all the cleaning staff had gone home for the day. This isn’t value for money or acceptable when the the room rate is $431.25 per night inc. tax.

We stayed years ago and totally enjoyed it so re booked with friends. The rooms felt like they hadn’t been touched since last visit with no decor updates. I appreciate the formal, wallpaper, decor it just felt dark and kinda like a rich Aunts house not a boutique hotel with a high price tag. Small TVs, poor lighting, no extra frills that you’d expect at a small place like Chocolates on my pillow. Very disappointed in the box of donuts put out for breakfast, they could have been arranged on a platter and that b would have made it better. The early closing hours at the bar didn’t allow us to take advantage of the nice lower level. There wasn’t much offered at the bar, even a bowl of wine crackers would have been nice. The locked doors at 7pm does not feel very upscale or personal. There needs to be another solution. On the positive, the bar area was nice and inviting and we were able enjoy sitting outside. Overall the staff was pleasant and helpful when asked questions. Sorry Ledson, just not what I expected after being a wine club member and huge fan of your wines for years.

Expected continental breakfast but only coffee/tea available. Room (Edna’s room) facing car park in back of hotel not very nice especially coming such a long distance to stay there and on the recommendation of our daughter who lives in Australia who had given us this treat for a 40 wedding anniversary gift.
We were also told hotel doors closed at 6 and members of the public could not get into hotel after that time. We assumed the bar was still open to residents but it was not. Another reason we stayed at this hotel was the bar so again very disappointing.
We ended up going to bed at 8. We turned the fire on as room quite cold and my husband turned it off at 9 he thought but it kept making a terrible noise like air conditioning coming on and off all night. Got very little sleep because of this.
Would have to think again about staying here.

All staff members were extremely nice. Rooms beautifully decorated. Location superb! Room for use of a walker was a plus. However, a few low ratings on the following: Night stand only on one side of bed; no reading lights on either side of bed; lighting in bathroom very poor, dark, not suitable for makeup application, shaving, etc. Exterior of windows in need of cleaning, Closet was a joke . . . 13 inches deep! TV screen would have been best situated over fireplace wall rather than to the right of the fireplace. No breakfast offered with the high price of an overnight, nor a discount at one of the many breakfast places in town.

This is a very small boutique hotel (6 rooms ) that is gorgeous and makes one feel they are in Europe. It is right on the Square and three of their room face the square. They give you very personal attention and make sure that you have an enjoyable stay. In this age of the coronavirus, they take every precaution to ensure your health. We felt very safe staying there. We ate most of our meals on our balcony that overLooked the square, We will definitely be back.

Although we did not stay at this beautiful Hotel, we did do a wine tasting here. The wines were amazing. We so enjoyed our pourer, Brandon, who was full of knowledge of the wines we were tasting but also of the area we were visiting. He shared info on restaurants and other winery's to visit including the sister winery. We enjoyed our tasting experience and recommend visiting this jewel in Sonoma.

We enjoyed our stay, the room was generous and beautifully decorated. The balcony overlooking the park is just lovely. The highly personal & attentive service is very nice. It’s quaint, only 6 rooms and run like a small B &B, so check in times are set so you are personally walked through the room and hotel. The wine tasting on the patio was a pleasant experience. Walking distance to many great restaurants, we had the best breakfast at Sausage emporium across the street. Friendly staff and very clean, we would return without a doubt. Special thank you to Brandon for welcoming us and providing exceptional service.

Yes they provide juice, coffee, and pastries in the lobby! There are also many choices available close by!
The Hotel has a dedicated guest parking lot directly behind the building. Parking is included with the price of the room and access to the parking lot is just to the left of the front of the Hotel from 1st Street East.
Right there in downtown Sonoma square. Close to many restaurants, tasting rooms, and some shops.

This may sound a basic question but we've not been to this area before. Were you driven to the castle for tastings or is there a good taxi service. Would love to enjoy a few tastings without worrying about driving!
Thanks
Alison
Hi. The hotel offers two kinds of tastings. One is done right in the hotel bar. The other, for the higher end wines, is at their "castle", which is a bit out of town. We did drive ourselves, but wouldn't have wanted to visit more than one winery at a time that way. There are a fair number of tasting rooms right around the square in Sonoma. But it was pleasant to get out of town and visit the winery, particularly as the tasting came with a delicious cheese and fruit plate. There are taxi and limousine services in the area but we didn't use them. The hotel may be able to suggest options, or their is a tourist information office right across the street.
