I stayed at the El Dorado hotel for a friend's wedding a few weeks ago and it was completely pleasant. I had a great room - one that faced the square and had a large balcony/porch on the second floor. The room was small but delightful. It was clean, fresh, and had authentic terracotta tile floors which I loved. The... More

Four of us dropped by for a late lunch/early dinner at 4 pm. We were seated at a table with one printed menu on it, no additional were offered. The waiter was unable to answer questions about menu items. A member of our party was excited to see Pliny the Elder on tap which he had been told good things... More

Dear Wyndwhystle, Thank you for your posting. We are sorry to hear about your experience. We have reviewed your comments with our entire team and are looking into the issues you mentioned. It sounds like you dined in our Corner Cafe (not El Dorado Kitchen). We are in the process of converting this space to a full service restaurant that... More

The location of this hotel is great - right on the square in the center of Sonoma! Within walking distance of everything in the square. It's an older place but with current updates. Convenient little parking lot in the back worked well for us. Clean rooms, nice shower, balcony, and comfortable bed. 4 of us requested wakeup calls, and none... More

We just ate here, but had the most perfectly cooked salmon I've ever had. I even ate the skin which i don't normally do, but it was cripsy, perfecty salted and just the hint of the underlying unctuous salmon fat. Also the Mexican Pot du Creme was fabulous!! Our best dinner in wine country.

Love this hotel, can't beat the location and the common areas are beautiful. Restaurant EDK is exceptional! Rooms are not luxurious but are very pleasant, most importantly there is a comfortable bed and pillows and the hotel is smart enough to give you a radio with nature sounds to help drown out the noises you will hear from (1) the... Great location in the heart of Sonoma. Restaurant at the hotel was fantastic. The service was outstanding. The front desk was great at providing recommendations of wineries in the region that catered to my tastes.

The staff was welcoming and helpful. The Hotel is two stories and they carried our luggage to our room (no elevators). The hotel is very clean and rooms nicely, simply done...balconies with chair, should you want to sit and enjoy fresh air, overlooking the square. There are two restaurants...for breakfast a cute coffee shop (ala Starbucks)....and the restaurant has a... More

Let me begin with saying that, I have a strange fear of bed and breakfasts so I wanted more of a hotel type of place. They have a restaurant on site which is nice, no room service which is ok, at least food near by. You are also in the central part of Sonoma's town square which is cute and... More

We were choosing before several hotels in the area before deciding on El Dorado. The price is great, it is centrally located and the rooms are very comfortable. There is a cafe that great for a quick breakfast in the morning, a fantastic snack around lunch or a beer at the end of the night. The bed is very comfortable... More

The El Dorado was a great place to stay while in Sonoma for an evening! Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room, very clean with plenty of space, with the exception being the bathroom. It was large enough, for sure, but I felt a bit restricted when it came time to shave. Would I stay at the El Dorado... More
