My brother was looking for some much needed R&R so I told him about Buttes Resort specifically because my friend said it was so Perfect for that back in 2012 when she needed it. We again had cabin 3/4 with the big deck. He enjoyed the kitchen - not always having to eat out (but you DO have to get...

Our first stay in Sierra City and after reading the reviews I was hoping to get a room here. It was amazing. The Resort itself is so charming and inviting. Our Cabin #9 was wonderful with deck overlooking the river that we almost didn't want to go explore.. Clean, well run, professional and caring is how I would describe this...

I was VISITING (for dinner) family staying here and brought my 2 small dogs. We were talking on the deck (dogs were not going indoors) and MIKE, the owner, told us to leave. We knew that dogs were not allowed at this resort, which is why we were not staying here. Our family members were the only people with the...

We have vacationed in this area for decades, but after camping was no longer an option we started trying out some of the other accommodations in the area. We have been disappointed many times, until we stayed at The Buttes Resort a couple of weeks ago. Even after reading the excellent reviews we were still keeping our fingers crossed when...

We called on a last minute whim, and were delighted when Mike told us they had a vacancy. Their cottages are immaculate and well appointed. Our unit was perched a hundred feet and more above the Yuba River, with oaks and maples shading us from the heat of a summer day. A short jaunt down the path to the water...

We stayed in a cabin. It was clean and adorable. They have a beautiful patio that overlooks the river and has plenty of relaxing chairs and tables plus a barbecue. Even our cabin had a small private porch for outdoor eating and lounging. Close to forty different lakes all good for fishing, kayaking and hiking. Quiet, comfortable and with delightful...

When you wouldn't change a thing about your vacation experience. This review is long overdue - my husband & I and our friend were there in June 2012 I believe - but it bothered me to see the negative reviews. This place and Mike & Lindy are amazing!! Our first rainy, windy night (in cabin 5/6) which was chaotic because...

We stayed in #9, a lovely location at the back of the resort, that has a deck overlooking the North Yuba River. Buttes Resort offers basic cabin accommodations, but has all the things you need and more. In our cabin: TV, free wi-fi, and a small kitchen with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, utensils and plates, hairdryer. Bathroom has a small...

We have stayed in Sierra City since the 60's, first as campers, later as visitors in a private home. Since the early 2000's, we have stayed at the Buttes Resort. The place is owned by the nicest couple, and they do all the work themselves. The rooms are clean and comfortable, not at all shabby or run down. The rates...

Every June, 19 of us rent the cabins at the Buttes Resort. It doesn't matter who gets which cabin as they all are suited for our needs. I really like cabin 4 as the sound of the Yuba River is soothing. We all pot luck around the barbeque both nights. Mike and Lindy are such fun hosts. They work so...
