The people are very nice and make you feel like a welcome guest. Susan checked us in and was so nice. She also works in the bar and told us about several places to go hiking with spectacular views while she was serving us. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast on two mornings and Friday supper. All meals were... More

Lovely setting by the river with a view of the Sierra Buttes from the restaurant tables. Nice menu. My husband ordered trout almondene which is specialty of the restaurant. The trout are raised in their pond and selected fresh each morning. Short but thoughtful wine list is mostly Californian. Good choices paired with their menu. This is traditional American fare... Harrington's Resort Hotel, Sierra City We really enjoyed our stay at Harrington's. You have to put things in perspective as Sierra City has a population of around 300 people and is pretty seasonal. This facility is comfortable rustic, older construction but facilities modernized and up dated, we found it very comfortable and very clean. We had a really nice room... More

We are here a couple days ago for dinner. As always, they do meat very well. The pork chops are huge and flavorful. My husband ordered one pork chop and it was big enough for dinner and lunch the next day. I ordered the trout. That daddy was about 14" long!! It was big enough for three meals! It was... More

The people who operate Herringtons Sierra Pines are all kind and helpful. The property is dated, but not inappropriately so for the region. Rooms are immaculately clean, but again very dated. 1970's panelling. No air conditioning (and it's needed in California's new drought stricken climate) but they do provide a fan which will keep you reasonably comfortable if you leave... More

Loved this little rustic hotel. Basic rooms, nice walk down to the River with private tables and chairs for the guest. Chief is awesome and Jose who works the fish pond is wonderful with the children. I do have to mention that the hotel maids rinsed, not washed the coffee pot, cups and glass in the bathroom and the dried... More

We stayed two nights at this beautiful location along with another couple of friends. Both of us had rooms with a Yuba river view. The room was a convenient size, bathroom clean and neat, porch overlooking the river was perfect. We ate at the restaurant both nights and were very, very happy with the quality, choices, preparation and presentation of... More

We stayed in a king river view room and we were happy with the room. Yes it is rustic and cabin like and that is what we expected and wanted. The room was very clean and the deck was a good size for relaxing on while listening to the river. The bed and pillows aren't like a 5 star hotel,... More

Been going to Herringtons for 10 years. It's decor is old-fashioned rustic, but has most modern amenities, depending on your room choice. Limited cable TV (but I don't watch TV when there). No phones, no fridge (except kitchen units), and no noise except for the rush of the river over rocks. I bring my own coffee and filters, and use... More

We stayed in a cabin with a kitchenette. The kitchenette is well-stocked with plates, cutlery and pots. The fridge, even on the warmest setting, froze everything we had (like an entire jug of milk). Don't rent one of these cabins if you bring much luggage because there isn't a dresser, although there is a closet, and there is very little... More
