We were welcomed upon our arrival. The staff was very helpful. We stayed in the hotel part. The room was very cozy and clean. Unfortunately, there was some mold in the shower. The hotel advertised that they offer a free breakfast but when we got there, we were given a flyer that said you can purchase breakfast items in the office. The next morning we went to go check on the breakfast available. The door was locked and no one there.
We would definitely stay again.

My husband and I spent two nights here in a hotel room (not a cabin). The decor was charming, the temperature control was good, the room was quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately, the tap water was rusty. We felt we shouldn’t drink it, and after a shower, my hair felt like steel wool. They provided only coffee, tea and toast in the morning. The odd numbered rooms face away from the road and are thus quieter.

Arrived on Friday, May 21st and everything was great. Saturday morning we couldn't get the oven to work so I contacted the Office was was told that they are waiting for a part for the oven, wish I was informed of this issued before we arrived for the weekend. I burners were so filthy that when you turned them on, they would start to smoke due to all the old food that dropped on them. The dishes and silverware were filthy, we had to wash them before we could use them. The microwave sounded like it was in pain because it made just a grindling noise. Turned off the heat stove in the livingroom when we went to bed and couldn't get it to turn back on the next morning. Last big issue is that on Saturday evening the toilet got plugged up and the Office provided us with two plunggers, but they didn't work that great. Finally got the toilet unplugged, but the next morning when we got up it was plugged again. This time we just gave up and hurried up and packed up because we didn't want to take the chance of something else going wrong. I think that the bad luck started when we went to play horseshoes at the park and one of the horseshoes broke in half. With everything that happened to use while staying in the Ski Suite, we did enjoy ourselves and had too laugh about everything that happened. Hopefully the owners will get these issues fixed because they rent the Ski Suite to anyone else.

I travel a lot and I mean a lot. Rarely do I feel compelled to give a less than stellar review, but I was very unimpressed with this expensive $160 cabin. The entire place felt like more of a communal spot than private places. I almost felt as if I was in a camp back in childhood except paying to stay inside.
On to why I am giving a less than stellar review. On the surface things look quaint and clean but it was quite dingy and even our lysol wipes were brown after cleaning door handles and tables, lamp switches etc... it is covid afterall. To be honest my boyfriend found this cozy cabin and I thought it looked cute and he said the reviews were good so I went with it. Instead of an enjoyable evening’s sleep I hardly slept for three reasons 1) and most important I felt the sheets/bedding weren’t the cleanest. Maybe they were but it was my impression. When my bf inspected the bed, he is actually the less paranoid clean freak, and was like hmm I’m not sure how clean these are or maybe the person just rushed the bed making. There were some hairs (now those could be from the dryer or housekeeping). 2)There were 3 spiders inside and because I am scared of them I also couldn’t sleep feeling as though they may come crawling around in the bed. I am aware it’s a cabin in the woods but I’ve also stayed in many cabins without obvious issues. There was even a couple dead ones in the bathroom on the wall. 3) the so called air conditioner was a window unit which I own at home and they aren’t great but this one didn’t work. Everytime we turned it on the power cut out. So we sweated all night trying to sleep. We also had to run the ceiling fan high speed due to the heat which dried us both out so bad, I woke up with red eyes and needing nasal saline and eye drops to lubricate. Oh and the shower curtain is gross and needs replaced. I was also irritated that the tub and bed were so hard to get in and out of for a 5 foot 3 person. Maybe my standards are too high but for $160 I expect a lot more. All I could think of was that I would rather sleep in my tent or at our next hotel. To me maybe this place would have been ok for me pre covid but with Covid it just doesn’t feel pandemic clean. We also didn’t appreciate being left to find our cabin in the dark after I told the place we wouldn’t be there until evening; and they sent me an email saying someone is always there. Then they called to tell us their desk is closing. Being that a national park is nearby it would be safe to assume folks may come in the evening after a day of fun. Turning a porch light on with a Cabin name visable would have been nice while we had our hands full of bags and food, searching for it. I think 20 years ago a younger me would have been happy here but not at this age.

I attempted to stay at Shaver Lake Village Hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. After walking to book a tent following a long morning of hiking, I found that within an hour, the tent became unbearably hot. My dog couldn't stop panting, and I was sweating profusely.

Concerned for our well-being, I approached the front desk to explain the situation. I was met with a lack of sympathy and was told that the manager would be contacted. They assured me they would get back to me, but I never received any follow-up. Despite making multiple phone calls and leaving several voicemails, I still haven't heard back.

I'm deeply disappointed with the lack of care and communication from the staff. The safety and comfort of guests should be a top priority, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. I do not recommend trusting this place with your safety.

Third time staying here. We’ve tried the hotel rooms, suite, and this time the Bear’s Den cabin. Due to the pandemic we’re in this was my first time staying outside of my house. I thought it’s a personal cabin it’ll be fine. Well it might be if cleaned properly! Hot Cheeto and other crumbs on the floor, hairs in the shower and standing water around the drain, a remote under the bed, and everything else filthy. I used my own Clorox wipes to clean the outdoor table, counters, and chair. Gross! The other stays were not very clean either but I thought they may have improved due to required sanitation measures for Covid-19! I was grossed out and would have left it it wasn’t already late in the evening. I let the front desk know upon departure and they said they’d give the manager the message and I sent an email. I got no response from the manager! You really need to step up your safety measures for your guests! We ate a pizza outside on our porch only to have a group of 5 men from the hotel area sit on the table right outside our porch so we went inside. The grounds are nice and it is a fun place to stay while visiting shaver lake but not clean enough. I probably won’t be back.

Our family was in a horrible car accident and this hotel came and picked us up with all of our kids on the side of the road in 20° weather and put us in a hotel cabin. The most horrible experience turned into the best experience. All because of the family run business

Greeted by a very nice young man. He gave us so much information on the facility and the town.

Our room was room #4 in the Hotel building. Huge king size bed, super comfortable with nice linens. Bathroom was large with nice shower and big towels.

Microwave and small fridge. Room was spotless. A/C worked well in the 90°+ heat. Ceiling fan was nice too!

You are literally a 5 minute walk to the heart of the town and 10 minutes to the lake by foot!

I loved the outdoor seating, swing, night lights, walking paths. All so ‘lodge’ like!

Definitely recommend!

My wife and I stayed here with our 4 year old over the New Years holiday. We had a great time and the hotel was perfect. The rooms were clean and well carried for and the grounds were nicely decorated for the holidays which really added to the excitement of the season. We stayed in two different room due to availability and the staff was very accommodating to our room change. We will definitely stay again.

Bad news: I fell through the hotel’s decrepitude front deck injuring my leg and hand. Be careful! Makes me wonder if management responds to bad situations only after they occur. 🤔
Good news: The front office staff was polite and the suite was clean enough. The bathrooms could use some updating.
