Last week I went to the Monterey Peninsula on business and found myself at the Gateway Lodge in Seaside enquiring about a room to rent for the week. Not only did the motel have the best rate in town but it even had better amenities. My room was large and very clean. I was pleasantly surprised to have a fridge...

Clean, recently remodeled room with microwave, refrigerator and flat screen t.v. Excellent value for the location so close to Monterey, Carmel and Pacific Grove. Very attentive, friendly staff. Great Italian restaurant right next door.

Good location and price, but thats it.. They don´t pay any attention on cleaning. You can see it already at the reception, everything is dusty what people don't touch daily. The towels and linen are old, with many spots on them. The phone looks like it was never cleaned in the past ten years. I've found blood on the bathroom...

Clean update rooms, decent beds and pillows. We went for the Half Marathon on Monterey and staying in town was not in the budget. This was only 5 miles away and worked out great. Neighbors were a little noise, thumping around until 11pm then again at 4am (I'm guessing they were doing the run also) We got back to our...

Stayed here with my family half way through month long touring holiday now we can compare it to all the other places we stayed we feel that here was very poor value. On positive side the staff were pleasant and helpful enough and the recently refurbished room was very good. It is also within easy driving distance of Monterrey but...

I was really concerned after reading the reviews but as I described below, my experience was nothing but good. We were driving down the coast and needed to stay the night. All the hotels we checked - on tripadvisor, yelp, Hotwire, airbnb, priceline - all were charging ridiculous rates and were mostly sold out or unavailable. Traffic was really piled...

I have no complaints. My room appeared to be newly remodeled. Bedding was clean. Fridge and microwave were clean and worked fine. Flatscreen tv and wi-fi worked perfectly. Bathroom clean, shower worked great. No excessive noise from the neighbors or the street. In sum, my experience was much better than many of the older reviews posted here. I booked on...

I had shown up with my partner. And was criticized about us using one bed...It went bad from there when we opened up the room to see there was food left over on the floor and in the fridge. TV channels were all fuzzy ..wi fi worked well . Breakfast was two different kind of Costco muffins cut into fours... Coffee...

First appearance makes you think this place will be OK but take my word for it, this place was a disgusting mess. It had toilets in the courtyards. When I pulled back the bed linen there were stains and I couldn't tell if had ever been laundered. The rooms smelled so stale and of old cigarette smoke. I didn't look...
