The hotel is centrally located in Santa Monica and within walking distance of all key attractions and shopping. Whilst the rooms are fairly basic, the price is cheaper than other hotels. Given the location, I doubt anyone would spend too much time in their room anyway. The bed was very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful and I would recommend...

Good location, close to the beach and shops, reasonably priced. Staff really nice, allowed us to check in super early after a long flight. Negative would be the noise, AC unit in room and service units outside, very loud, lucky we were so exhausted!

An excellent location one block from the beach and a very short walk to the Santa Monica Pier. There are plenty of places to et nearby and it feels very safe walking around here. The Hotel staff Mario, Leo and Demi are very friendly and extremely helpful. They were kind enough to find a room for an early check-in after...

The Carmel Hotel - Santa Monica. An oldie, but a goodie! Original Art Deco hotel that is clean and comfortable. The decor is tired, but they have some lovely old furniture - the beds are comfy, and yes, they are high! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for walking everywhere in Santa Monica. Highly...

Cute from the outside and located near 3rd street promenade and the Santa Monica Pier. Owners need to put some money in and renovate. Very disappointed in my stay but I was there for business not pleasure. I did walk around the block and saw 4 or 5 really good hotels in the area.

Great location and very clean rooms. Stayed for 1 night stopover and was pleasantly surprised. Prices in Santa Monica were so expensive but we were very happy with our stay at a much more reasonable cost. Complementary breakfast was an added bonus.

For the price, you can not beat this hotel. The location is absolutely amazing. Walking distance to pretty much everything you need. Just a couple of blocks from the beach. The hotel is family run, a bit older, but clean. The staff was absolutely great. They were very welcoming and accommodating. Our room was large, clean, comfortable beds, clean bathroom...

The Carmel is an Historic hotel 3 blocks from the Pier and beach. It's been remodeled recently and is clean and comfortable. It's cheaper than other hotels nearby, perhaps because it lacks amenities like a refrigerator, hair dryer or coffee maker. The latter is more than made up for by the free morning coffee, OJ and pastries in the lobby....

Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster.
