Our room was very clean and I must say that the hotel manager was very nice, helpful and patient. I agree with the review by James Croydon in that the ground floor room location was noisy. We were lucky that the people in the room on the floor above us were quiet but you could hear them just walking across...

Minutes to beach ,walkway and pier. We went to Universal one day 30-45 minutes on a saturday and DTLA on sunday about the same. Our king room was clean comfortable with nice bathroom and a great shower.(water whistled when you flushed the toilet though ). Walls are pretty thin we heard our neighbor talking on his cell late plus traffic...

The Bayside was a good option for our 3 days in Santa Monica, no frills, but a very comfy bed and good location. The only real downside was that our ground floor room had terrible sound insulation, we could hear the person in the room above us snoring! I'd recommend a first floor room, and then keep your shoes off...

We live in a tiny apartment near the Bayside Hotel in Santa Monica, we do not have room for house guests. EVERYONE that visits us stays here LOVES it. In September we had about 6 couples visiting for a special event and we didn't have to think twice about having them stay them. The location is steps, across the park...

The Bayside is right across the street from a park and the ocean. It is within easy walking distance of restaurants and stores. The rooms are large, beds are comfortable. The tub needs to be reglazed or replaced; the shower head definitely needs to be replaced & the front desk staff were notified of that. Paying a few extra dollars...

Well located only a few metres from the beach. About a fifteen minute walk from the bars and restaurants at Santa Monica and the Pier. We stayed in a room with two double beds. Clean and fresh rooms overlooking a small courtyard with sun loungers (not that we needed them in Jan). Safe in room and all rooms are in...

What you see is what you get there wasn't any hidden nasties. Just as the photos show it's exactly how the room is. Santa Monica is not the flashiest of places so $200 a night is pretty pricey in opinion. You're basically paying for the location here as you can walk to the pier. I would recommend staying the other...

This hotel may not look like the 4 to 5 star hotels in the Santa Monica area, but it's truly a diamond in the rough. The staff is friendly and they price matched a lower rate. The rooms are very clean and have all the ammentities including a wet bar, snack bar and Keurig coffee machine. The beds are large...

Checked in around 8:30 pm. Registration clerk was very nice. Very helpful with dining, shopping and bargain hunting suggestions. He was very accommodating. Different clerk the next day at check out was equally helpful and kind. Our room was super cute and the bathroom was huge! Everything was clean and there was a cute little kitchenette. We stayed in room...

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
