We arrived on Tuesday (Dec 27) after 3pm, which is the regular check-in time. We were told, our room is not ready yet, and we would have to wait approx. 20 minutes. After a more than 6 hour car ride we had to wait more than 20 minutes standing with our luggage in the hotel lobby, until our room was...

We arrived and managed to get an early check in without having previously requested which is something always appreciated. The room was spacious, it had a good large bathroom and in-room coffee facilities. The room was on the side which meant it was exceptionally quiet. We only ate lunch there on the terrace/veranda and it was freshly prepared and exactly...

My daughter and I just returned home from a 5-night stay at The Georgian. We both agreed we would not stay here again. We chose it for the location and the "charm" and history. Unfortunately, the "charm" was a bit lacking. The common areas were fine but not nearly as nice or large as they appear in pictures on the...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica! This art deco inspired hotel is well located just across from the Santa Monica Pier and a short stroll from the 3rd Street Promenade activities. The hotel lobby is a bit dated but scheduled for renovations. After checking in, you must walk up stairs with your bags to...

We enjoyed our stay at the Georgian Hotel. It's located right in the heart of downtown Santa Monica. Breakfast at the veranda was awesome. Only disappointment is the greed and lack of real care by the staff.

My husband and I stayed for two nights en route from California to New Orleans. The Georgian Hotel is very distinctive as it is a lot older than many of the other ocean front hotels in Santa Monica. This gives it some character and charm. We had a lovely room at the front overlooking the ocean, with two chairs so...

We enjoyed our stay at The Georgian. Our room was large with a sitting room overlooking Santa Monica Bay. There are lots of wonderful restaurants a few minutes walk from the hotel so it's very central. The train station is about a ten minute walk and will take you downtown and to Universal studios with a change. The staff were...

It a boutique Hotel on perfect location of Santa Monica which is accessible to the beach, market, restaurants and parks. The entire crew is awesome with smiley faces. The rooms are clean and of decent size.

We are staying here currently and we have been visiting the hotel for approximately 25 years. The lobby is not open due to renovation and only the service elevator is working. The veranda is only available for dining. The big comfy chairs and ocean viewing have been eliminated. Not sure that we will be returning, very sad😟

No pool, no gym, slow ancient elevator. Who cares? This is one of the better places to stay in Santa Monica. Rooms are pristine, including the period bathrooms with 40s tile. Super clean but it feels like you've stepped back in time. The beds are comfy, staff friendly and efficient, food good, rooms quiet. Ocean front rooms have amazing sunset...

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
