Stayed over for 1 night on our California road trip, ‘Mike’ in reception was very helpful and friendly. The room was a little dark but very spacious and clean, parking was no problem and the location was excellent for the beach/broadwalk. Building site across the...More
We had an overnight stay here. Parking was ok, we got the last space! Our room was clean and spacious, with basic furnishings. The shower was powerful and some toiletries provided. Breakfast was provided, a reasonable selection. Though plastic cutlery and plates used. Well located...More

Newly refurbished motel had comfy beds, little fridge & microwave, good A/C. Friendly Mr Patel nicely called us when we were a little delayed in arrival. Parking available. Pool is a bit tiny for anyone but a couple of kids. Breakfast was tidy & plentiful.
We spent our only night in SC here at Comfort Inn. Staff was friendly, parking was free, got upgraded to a suite and breakfast was ok. So in all, pretty OK!
The area itself was quite unplesant: homeless people on the streets, heard a domestic...More

I can't remember if we had a refrigerator in our room, however, they are listed as part of the room amenities on some web sites. I would suggest calling the hotel directly to make sure you have in your room.

I am a police officer and stayed in the area. I didn't feel unsafe but like I said am a police officer and was armed. I would recommend you go and I would stay in the Hampton across the street from where we stayed the address is Hampton Inn 1505 Ocean Street, Santa Cruz, California, 95060, The area is decent and isn't any different than any other community; however, be careful in the area directly around the boardwalk. The boardwalk is safe just don't venture out into the community on foot alone. Daylight hours are great it is night when you should be cautious.
The boardwalk is worth a visit and we had a good time there. The beach on the boardwalk is great and clean as well. Depending on how long you are at the boardwalk will dictate where you will park. All day park in the 15 dollar lot. If only there for a few hours use the street metered parking. 1.50 for 2 hours. We had no difficulties at all.
We stayed at the comfort Inn and if you are only three you should be fine with 2 queen beds in a standard room. I was unhappy with the Comfort Inn. Because of noise and parking. Don't make your self a target and you will be fine. Have safe travels and enjoy yourself. If you are driving invest in a gps. It is the best investment you will make taking a trip and being in areas you are not familiar with trust me. Hope this helped...
