I requested him to go outside the office and get the license plate number of his vehicle which was in the motel parking lot. We have to provide parking to every guest vehicle that is registered with us. Also he was asked to explain the difference in his address. These are standard check -in procedures applicable to all guests. Plse read...

Older motel, for price, worth it. Refrigerator , microwave, and air conditioner working. Room clean. Management friendly. One car one space for room , since it is very small. Pool small but open . Not ritzy by any means but comfortable and affordable. Across the street from a Denny's and office offers Danish and coffee in the morning. If you...

My family and I stayed a week here. We chose National 9 for the exceptional rates (best in the city) but ended up finding sparkling, clean, nice-smelling rooms, an extremely friendly staff, and an atmosphere that truly felt like home away from home. Management did everything they could to make our stay pleasant and relaxing, and housekeeping did a superb...

Weary after 4days straight of commercial crabbing, even at midnight Vic the owner was very nice! The room was much more than I expected. Clean, good size tv with cable and HBO, wifi works great, and they had a nice little breakfast claw assortment next to the coffee and orange juice in the office when I woke up 😀. Talking...

Santa Cruz hotel prices vary quite a bit of the same hotels depending on what was going on the weekend and are also seasonal. The weekend of our stay went sky high from the usual $100 to $229. This was also the most inexpensive place we could find in the area for the same day booking. The motel was very...

We were pleasantly surprised when we visited Santa Cruz on a busy weekend with our 5 grandchildren. Every hotel we tried was booked. We finally visited the small (vintage looking) hotel called National 9. We normally would not have used this hotel but are glad we did. The rooms were clean and fresh smelling. The pool was just right for...

For some reason, on Saturday night, August 10th, there was a lot of price gouging going on in Santa Cruz and with No Vacancy signs all over town, I paid in excess of $200 for a room comparable to an $80 Super8.... but I wish I'd driven away because there's a big Day's Inn another half an hour or so...

This motel is totally fine--light on frills but overall is a nice place. Checked in fairly late at night on a Thursday with no issues. Granite tile floors, nice bathtub area, nice clerk at the desk. The decor is like grandma's rec room, but at these rates, who cares?

Seedy, noisy, shabby, smelly, uncomfortable. I chose this place based upon the assumption that the mid-range price would get me a serviceable room without bells and whistles. At this point I wish I had just saved my money and slept in my car.

“If it is late at night and you are tired, check the windows. They leave the windows open, but the bug screens make them look closed. The room will be quieter if you close the windows.”
