This hotel is nicely renovated, but it’s more of a cosmetic update. You’ll see that when you step into the old elevator. I had a tower suite which was lovely, spacious and very comfortable. BUT the windows were not updated and they are single pane, and have no noise reducing qualities. It’s very noisy in the rooms. (I was on a high floor and still heard everything. And the rooms aren’t very well sound proofed as I could hear everyone’s alarms going off in the morning in other rooms. I’m not even a light sleeper and I found it hard to sleep with all the outside noise. Bring earplugs.

The restaurant was pretty decent and good service. I’d recommend this hotel for business travelers - but bring earplugs if noise bothers you

This was my first time stay at Delta in Santa Clara. The check-in process was fast and smooth. The great experience was that I was upgraded to a suit with all of my requested items and toiletries already delivered to my room. The room was clean and well stocked with everything one can think of. Both, Alondra and Odette were super courteous and pleasant to speak with. My kudos to this place and I look forward to staying here on my future visits.

PROs: great check in experience: kindness, upgrade, welcome gift. Wide open, high ceiling, renovated lobby. Pantry for Bonvoy high ranked guests. Very nice suite with contemporary appliances. Nice bathroom indeed. It's a silent hotel (I stayed at floor 7). The swimming pool is truly well heated and long enough for good swimming sessions. Nice bar, with A la carte breakfast options in the morning. Lots of room to seat and work in the lobby.
CONs: the lobby music is a bit too loud to make work-calls. I can imagine that some ground floor rooms are less glamorous.
CONCLUSIONS: the renovations made this Hotel extremely appealing for its category. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back. It might work well for both families and business travelers.

This is the hotel of no return for me.

Paid $223/night before tax for 3 nights on my business trip from Nov. 07 to Nov. 09, 2022. My first visit to the Bay area in a long time, so followed coworker to Delta Mariotte Santa Clara. I'm a Hilton timeshare owner and diamond member, so really giving this Marriotte a good faith try.

Arrived at the hotel about 830pm PST. The front desk gentleman instructions to my room: head to your right, walk past the lobby, walk past the elevator, turn right and you'll see a double door, go through the double door, walk straight, then turn left and there's your room on 2nd floor.... I was puzzled, what did he mean by "walk past the elevator"? It's a magnificent high-rise hotel! Anyway, there I went. Passed lobby. Passed the elevator. Turned right. Found the double door. Walked towards the double door. The double door opened: darkness, cold air with wet raindrops blew into my face, goosebumps arose on my back, and I knew there's no way I would take one more step ahead towards whatever dark area the hotel assigned me to.

Turned back to the front desk. I told the gentleman, whatever room you have assigned me, I'm not going. Please fix it right now.

Reassigned he did. But that first shock of horror I could not shake away for rest of the night. Barely managed to get 2 hours sleep that night.

To be fair, after getting over my shock and horror, the reassigned room was clean and tidy. Maybe this hotel is only for the Marriotte Platinum or higher status.

This bad experience with Mariotte Delta only strengthened my loyalty to Hilton Honors - would never volunteer to return to this or other Marriotte chain.

Dear karatgolda, Thank you for trying us out. Indeed if you have a higher "status" with a different loyalty program that does not equate with the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, you will not have access to the same amenities that you would enjoy with the other loyalty program. However, you can build loyalty with Marriott if you so choose and I am glad that when inquiring about an upgrade we had one available to you as that is not always going to be available, particularly during the week as when you stayed with us. Thank you once again for trying us out.

I booked the Delta for a recent work trip, based on the pictures, I thought I'd be staying at a Marriot, however, the reality is that a large portion of the hotel is an old motel. I stayed in a Garden King, which upon checking in I was told "faces the gas station" - never a good description. Indeed, the Garden rooms are an old motel, those that face the main hotel may be ok, as they have been fixed up, but those that face "the gas station" are really loud and I would not suggest them if you like to sleep. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern, however the AC was really loud and I needed it on full fan to try to drown out the motorcycles, loud base music and other freeway noises. I will not return to this hotel.

I was just there I checked in January 5 2024 and checked out January 8 2024. We were in the area for the 49ers game I was speechless at how sweet and amazing the hotel staff was especially Barry at the front desk and the manager at the Lucas lounge. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left the hotel we were welcomed with open arms and they were very attentive. Barry was so amazing he accommodated us perfectly and anything we requested was taken care of really fast!! I will definitely be coming back to this hotel when we go back to Santa Clara. The hotel was very clean I had no issues at all! I loved my stay here it was very relaxing! And I can’t stress it enough Barry did such an amazing job taking care of us!

Upon entering, you can see the modern scheme of the lobby, high ceiling with nice decor. Spacious lobby. The parking lot and lobby looked somewhat empty at a 4pm check-in. Felt welcome by FOH. FOH acknowledged my first time stay and was prompted a Tower King suite upgrade and parking was comp’d without me asking! Hotel status was just then acknowledged after all that kindness - so loyalty status did not seem to have had any bearing. Room was simply decorated, cozy, spacious and, more importantly, clean. One of the comfiest beds I’ve had recently. Shower had multiple pressures. Sofa bed, fridge, coffee maker available. Complimentary water. TV in office space. TV in bedroom. Wall/sliding door dividing office space with sofa bed and bedroom. There was a weird panel covering an opening on the wall in the bathroom - probably has a purpose why it’s not fully covered and flush with the wall. Other than that, no issues with the stay and likely to come back again!

Newly renovated hotel, not to a particularly high standard but had an overall pleasant stay. Least favourite part of the stay was the check-in experience. Had requested a room on a higher floor and was assigned a room on the ground floor. Reception desk staff member checking me in was not too accommodating about changing this, and I had to really insist before he relented. No upgrade or recognition of Bonvoy elite status, except for permission for a late check-out. Room features quite basic but perfectly adequate for a one-person business trip stay.

I have stayed at many Marriott hotels around the world, This is absolutely the worst I have ever stayed,

How is this even a Marriott hotel? Or is it a motel instead?

Old and small room with bad and moldy smell. After switching through several rooms, I got an upgrade, but the bathroom wall had a panel covering up a big hole on the wall!

I would NOT come back. I would NOT recommend my friends or colleagues to stay here.

I travel up to Santa Clara for work at least one week every month and have stayed in all the Marriott properties in the surrounding area. I am a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium member and like the Delta for several reasons - the Tower rooms have a nice separate living room and bedroom, newly renovated and quiet. The pantry with free snacks is awesome and I always feel comfortable and safe in the Tower.
The Garden Rooms is in the lower building and feels like a motel. I was put there in January 2023 as the Tower had sustained damage from the rains. Although they comped my parking, it was a bit freaked out about being on the 1st level facing a dark parking lot and U-Haul. Even though there is a gated fence, anyone could jump it. Overall the room was nice and renovated, if I was on the 2nd floor, I might have felt better but another reviewer mentioned going through a dark-ish walkway and that is true.

Dear V8272AXtarah, Thank you for your high praise. We truly appreciate it. I also apologize for having to move you due to the damage from the storm. I realize as a Titanium member you are not used to that. I will also look into how we can bring some more light to the area you mentioned and appreciate the feedback. Thank you once again.
