I was surprised and delighted to find this great hotel! It looked like the second floor was recently refurbished. The carpeting throughout the hallways is new and very tasteful and the large room also had modern features such as a lighted mirror and central control of the lighting system. The large room was very comfortable and well equipped with a kitchenette, open closet area with sitting bench, and desk. Everything was very clean and in good working order. There is a hot breakfast each morning with a good selection that was very tasty. The location is excellent - just an easy 5 minute walk to an upscale dining and shopping area. There is additional retail and dining nearby as well. The area felt very safe. Best of all, the staff are so friendly and helpful.

A friend hinted we would like this place…and boy did we! Every aspect of this remodeled older shell was aimed at quality. Quiet efficient room A/C…. Real room furniture instead of rickety cheap stuff….nice ergo desk chair….top marks for cleanliness absolutely spotless and shiny clean fixtures…. All normal room amenities but the coffe cups are real ceramic mugs if that tells you how this place is….. breakfast was great including real normal bacon rather than those paper thin things…. Staff is incredibly eager to make sure your stay is perfect. A few International plug styles say this hidden gem is frequented by Asian travelers and this place did remind me of the high end hotels we stayed at in Shanghai. We have stayed in many hundreds of hotels but this is near the best ever. I promise you won’t be disappointed if you are tired of the same cookie cutter big brand hotel rooms.

* Attentive hotel staff – The WiFi was poor the first day, but after reporting the issue to the staff it was resolved very quickly. Check-in was simply and the staff was competent and capable * Spacious rooms – each room was probably at least 2.5x the size of your average chain hotel of the same budget and class * Convenient location – right in the heart of Silicon Valley and close to highways * Breakfast – a typical hotel breakfast buffet is *included* in the price * Quiet – chose this hotel to be away from downtown SJC noise, and the hotel delivered * Clean - with caveats (see below) * Budget friendly – you get more than you pay for, compared to a chain

* The entire place smells like a hospital ward. The cleaner used smelled unpleasantly of disinfectant. * There was a large stain on the bed sheets. I only noticed this the final night as the stain was under a pillow. While the sheets were obviously cleaned and pressed the presence of a large stain is unacceptable * Ants in the room. This is not unusual for a ground floor room in Silicon Valley, and while there were just a few I also know from experience it can be controlled

I recently booked multiple rooms here for several employees. When I had to send them to another job they were kind enough to offer no cancellation fee and use the room credits for our next visit! I booked thru Expedia, so if you have ever gone down the rabbit hole of calling Expedia, you will know how big a deal this was. To be able to immediately talk to a Front Desk(something else not to take for granted) and resolve a travel issue in a few minutes vs 1 HR, was amazing!
Plus the hotel itself is quiet and clean and in a great location, while in the area, I wi8ll always book at Woodcrest They are customer service oriented.

My husband and I stayed at the Woodcrest Hotel In Santa Clara, CA for 7 nights in December. We were very happy with the accommodations, staff, location and free breakfast. The price for the room was very reasonable considering we were in Silicon Valley and close to the Apple campus. The room was clean and appeared to be recently updated. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was free and there were a variety of foods; eggs, bacon, cereal, pastries, fresh fruit and much more. As far as I know there is no gym and definitely no pool but we didn’t mind. Our room was very quiet and rarely did we hear any noise other than someone walking down the hallway. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely stay again on our next trip to Santa Clara.

I was pleasantly surprised that I liked our room and morning breakfasts even though I was leery at first. Arriving at the hotel, we couldn't even find the front door because it's small and looks more like the entry to an apartment building. The building exterior is a bit run-down, and the reception lobby and breakfast room are also tired and in need of new furniture. That being said, I was pleased to find a spacious, mostly updated, comfortable room, and delicious daily breakfasts.
Pros: Large room, extremely comfy beds and pillows, welcome gifts and candy/snacks/drinks, clean and updated bathroom, great shower, fridge and microwave (we didn't get that at Hyatt), and daily housekeeping (also didn't get that at Hyatt). The adjustable, lighted, magnified vanity mirror was a nice bonus. The daily breakfast offered different options each of the 3 mornings, including sauteed veggies, salad, soup, cut fruit, varied proteins and starches, and the most delicious pastries (chocolate croissants, blueberry cream cheese danishes, etc.)
Cons: As mentioned, the entry/lobby/breakfast room were tired and could really use some updating. Most of the room had been updated, but the bedside tables were clearly old and the wood was chipped. We didn't hear any noise from the hall or rooms beside us, but footsteps from above sounded like elephants and we could hear everyone's shower/water running. This is probably due to it being an older property.
Overall, I really enjoyed our stay and would stay again if I was in the Santa Clara, Cupertino, San Jose area.

They gave us free snacks (kit-kat,twix,etc) as well as some drinks (tea,water,soda) on the first day I have arrived. The workers here are very nice and friendly. Amazing breakfast that is served everyday.Bus stop 2 min away so you can get around San Jose. I would come here again for sure.

What a gem! I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It is not much to look at on the outside, but the room was huge, quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel was clean. We came up for a 49er’s game. It was easy to get to and from the stadium. The free breakfast was a full breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, toast, cereal, fruit, etc. Coffee maker and refrigerator were also in the room. I will definitely stay there again. Staff were friendly and kind. I forgot my toothbrush and was given a new one at no charge. Overall, a very nice visit.

The location is excellent. It located within 3 minutes walking distance from the Main St shopping/dining neighborhood and. The room is newly renovated with a very cozy bed. Sheets and towels were new. The front desk staff was welcoming and friendly. I stay 10 nights at this hotel and was highly impressed with the cleanliness of my room and the amenities offered! If you like to have some drinks and great food after a busy day and then walk back to your room, this is the perfect place I would definitely recommend.

I loved this hotel! The rooms are great, the staff is gracious and kind, the breakfast room is really lovely as is the provided breakfast. The area close by (maybe 2-3 blocks) is filled with exciting restaurants. Very walkable area. I really enjoyed my stay. I will always go back to this hotel when in the San Jose area.
