My experience at this hotel was excellent. I was staying for business, and the room was set up for business travelers without looking like an office environment. The decor was modern. The front desk service was exceptional...attentive and friendly. I liked the texting feature to check out or get help (extra towels, etc) and the response was immediate. I would recommend this property.

I stayed the hotel for four nights. The place is clean and the staff is friendly, but the hotel is old and it has no amenities. There is no room service or restaurant onsite. Your only food options that are in walking distance are an Indian restaurant (which is great btw), and IHOP. The sinks are outside of the bathroom and the rooms have a tacky kitschy design. You can hear every step outside of your room. The parking lot has zero security measures- no camera no nothing. My coworker had her car broken into and the hotel did nothing. Will not be coming back.

Dear Marwamorgan, First of all allow us to thank you for your review, detailing your experiences from your stay with us, firstly please accept our apologies for the areas that we fell short of expectations. We are deeply sorry for what happen to your friend's car and that you had to go through this experience, this acts are occurring in all Santa Clara City and it is not just in our parking lot. We have been working with SCPD to get this controlled. On our side we have taken different measures, one of them was the increasing of the lightning, there are cameras outside that we share with ihop, we have signs around our parking lot, there is printed information on our Front desk to warn about this situation and we have our staff walking around the property and are instructed to report any suspicious activity. We will continue to do what is in our hands to prevent this to happen. Nice quiet hotel with amenities. Close to great America and the staff was great. There were food options that are within walking distance and the hotel offers a discount for eating at ihop. Definitely would recommend and stay again.

I stayed at Avatar Hotel for a conference 4 years ago and thought it was really cute and it was a convenient mile walk to the convention center. I booked again for the same conference this year and unfortunately it got cancelled at the very last minute due to recommendations from the health department about coronavirus. I shortened my stay from 3 nights to one night and they refunded the two nights even though I had booked a non-refundable room. They were very helpful in an extremely frustrating situation for a lot of people!

First time staying at Avatar, quite enjoyed our stay. The room and the hotel was quiet, although there were no concerts or 49er games at Levi so that may not always be the case. The staff (in particular) Bill were all friendly and smiled and said hello each time we walked by. There isn't a breakfast but there is an IHOP adjacent and you do get a discount there. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance as well. We had a room facing the back of the hotel near the businesses so no street noise to speak of. They have a sufficient gym and the pool looked clean and inviting. Would definitely stay here again!

My experience was that they had dirty rooms that smelled and their internet was slow. Me and my coworker both had to change rooms, mine smelled like weed and his like urine, but the new rooms still smelled like mildew. Their "high speed" internet was capped at 6mbps (which is not high speed), so doing any work was difficult, even Netflix struggled on my phone. They also do not have any movie channels on their TV, mainly local, sports, and news. So slow internet and no good TV does not equal me wanting to stay there again, especially not for work. This hotel might be okay for a one night stay to go to Great America, short of that I would pass.

I booked this Hilton hotel in Santa Clara one month prior to arrival. I flew into town and met a friend for dinner. I noticed a missed call, but my phone didn't ring because the number was not recognized. I called the number back after dinner, and it was the hotel front desk. They said that they had oversold the hotel and were fully booked — they gave away my room, even though I had a reservation. They told me to come to the front desk, and that they’d book me at another hotel and cover the cost.
We arrived and they started calling other properties — even other hotel chains. Places like the Courtyard Marriott were listed at $768 per night. There was a huge robotics convention in town, and every place was sold out. They started calling places that were further and further away, which would be a rough commute in the morning — still sold out.
At that point, I had zero viable options within a reasonable distance from the location of my early morning meeting the next day. My friend has a two-bedroom condo that is currently on the market to sell, and he offered to take me there. It was 15 miles away, which was a 45-minute drive in morning traffic. I am a solo female traveler, and I don't know what I would have done if my friend wasn't there to help.
The most disappointing thing about this situation is that the hotel manager never followed up, and it has already been over one week. I contacted Hilton Honors to file a complaint, and they said that the hotel was offering 15,000 Hilton Honors points -- which isn't even enough to cover one night here in California.
I am a business traveller who travels frequently (I have Titanium for Life status with Marriott), and I have been a Hilton Honors member for over 20 years. But unfortunately this situation makes me want to never stay at a Hilton property ever again.

Overall experience was average for me but I travel several times a month so am a bit immune to paying much attention. However, when I got hit with an early check in fee I found it very irritating. There was no disclosure of the fee on the web site so I really felt trapped into paying extra for a bogus fee. I have "never" run into such a fee before.

No. They told us that they do not have any security cameras. They were least worried when somebody broke into our car right in front of the hotel at 8AM.
