Mixed experience. Location is great & Super impressed by professionalism of bar staff that will make sure guest experience is great. Not impressed what happens at this hotel on GameDay. In short...49ers plates stayed here when I stayed there too. When arrived the whole lobby and bar was one roudy place with fans and guards. Next morning I was woken early by the player bus backing up next toy room and breakfast was in backroom with limited options. Marriott got it wrong by making this hotel a fan experience and forgetting about the normal guests. If I stay here again I will check GameDay before booking.

Thank you for staying with us and providing this valuable feedback. We strive to meet the needs of all our guests and I am sorry we were not able to do so during your stay. The hotel is very popular with football fans on a game weekend and we make every effort to balance all our guests priorities and expectations. I hope you will consider staying with us again soon. -Jeff

This was the first time we have stayed at the hotel. We were going to a concert at Levi Stadium and did not want to worry about driving home after. Getting to the hotel was easy but parking and checking in were a little hectic. They allow for paid parking by people attending events at Levi, which causes for a bit of a delay. Thankfully we are marriott gold members and had a separate line for check-in because the check in line was huge!. Room service was actually really good and delivered super quick especially for the amount of people there that day. The bar was also a nice place to grab drinks before heading to the concert. We took an Uber to levi, which was no not worth it. We followed the crowd back after the concert and it was a 15 min walk at most. Overall excellent hotel that was clean, with great service and in a great location for attending events at Levi Stadium. We will definitely stay again!

I stayed in Marriott Santa Clara for 4 nights during a business trip to the area. The reason to make this choice was the price, Marriott Bonvoy program membership and my trust to Marriott brand in general.
I arrived to the hotel around 9:30 p.m. and the check-in was quick and uneventful. My Marriott membership status was acknowledged during check-in and I was even assigned a room 1.5 days before my arrival on the app. My room key was activated on the phone too which is a great side of staying at Marriott hotels. So overall, it was a smooth arrival.
One thing I found very awkward was the high cost of the car parking — it was 40$ a day. Considering that the hotel has huge car parks that can serve more than the customers it has, this cost was truly too much. I guess it is California where nothing comes free. Thankfully, I noticed a rate that includes parking so that I didn’t need to pay this cost explicitly.
The hotel is a bit old American style Marriott. While the hotel had some renovation in its rooms (e.g., the bathroom looked brand new), you can find elements of the hotels age — e.g., the air conditioning system was so noisy and created so much wind in the room that I had to decide whether or not to turn the heating on even when it was pretty cold. The closeness of the San Jose airport also creates some minor noise. But apart from these, it was a very comfortable bed and room with a decent size. I appreciated the little touch of providing ear plugs and sleepy pillow mist on the bed side table. It was a nice touch.
I didn’t have breakfast in this hotel but I used the gym a few times. The gym is top-notch with so many exercise options. If you definitely need some exercise during your stays, this gym has everything you need. Unfortunately, the pool and hot tub as closed for renovation so I cannot comment on this either, but looking forward to see how this renovation pans out.
Overall, I had a comfortable stay but the sleep quality wasn’t great due to the air conditioning system of the room. I would definitely consider staying again, but it wouldn’t be my first choice if there are other more affordable and newer alternatives.

DO NOT STAY HERE! There was blood all over the ceiling and wall and lampshade in my room, but they didn’t change our room because they were understaffed and overwhelmed. There was only one towel in the room and housekeeping was unable to bring another one, even after two hours of waiting. Management ignored both of these requests.
When checking out, my bill had $9 in forced charity charges without asking and a $23.44 marketplace charge (their snack shop) that wasn’t mine. The manager (Crystal) refused to remove it, and wouldn’t give an updated billing because she didn’t know how to work the computer.
I followed up the next day and it still wasn’t fixed. Same thing the next day. She never took it off and I had to finally ask Marriott accounting for proof of the charges, which proved that it wasn’t mine, and then they finally removed it four days later.
During this process, she told her director that I had a negative tone and must’ve hurt her feelings, and that Ops Director decided that it would be better to believe her nonsense and to try to get my Marriott discount (brother works for Marriott) cancelled and my brother—who works in Arizona—to get written up and lose his employee benefits simply because my frustrated tone asked for some accountability.
I am a Platinum Elite member and Marriott shareholder, I’ve stayed 600+ nights across the country and never had a single issue. Marriott is great, just not this one location and it’s because of management being afraid to improve and their staff allergic to hearing honest feedback.
All I wanted was a clean room and an accurate bill, but instead I got a vindictive staff refusing to take accountability but trying to cause harm to a guest and his family because I “was over the top” in asking for an accurate bill.
If Marriott reads this, Jeff and Crystal are hurting your brand by letting their feelings get in the way of doing a proper job, providing clean rooms, and accurate billing.

Thank you for this feedback and I am sorry to hear you did not have a great experience. We take matters like this seriously and apologize for what you went through. The room was inspected to determine what the stain was and how best to clean it. While we are always open to feedback and correcting issues like a billing error we respectfully disagree with the characterization of our team.

Stayed at the Santa Clara Marriott for five days for a convention in February 2022. There were four of us sharing the room but it had two queen beds, so the size was fine.
The convention facilities were very good. We had over two thousand attendees and there were plenty of meeting rooms, ballrooms, lecture rooms, breakout rooms and restrooms.
The eating options were fairly awful. There were two restaurants in the hotel, in addition to room service. They also set up a ‘snack bar’ in the lobby. The restaurants had far too overpriced food for most of the attendees, such as an $18 hamburger. The snack bar offered breakfast items but all were pre-made, small and were extremely bland.
The decor at the hotel was atrocious. It was definitely silicon-valley driven, with a large circuit board that lit up. The artwork, which was identical in all rooms, was just a matter of taste but not my taste. The lighting was inconsistent, with my room having half the lights of the rooms in the other tower.
I wanted to especially point out the restrooms in each hotel room: none of the doors closed fully, being noisy barn doors that rattled along the tracks. There were no exhaust fans in the restrooms, for humidity and privacy. The lighting in the restrooms was awful and the space was minimal.
Lastly, the hotel keys were the standard coded card key but Marriott offered mobile key entry. The mobile key required a Marriott account on the app and only worked about 30% of the time. It would just say: “Oops, did you want to contact the front desk?” Uh, no, I wanted to get into my room. I was the only one in my room with a Marriott account, so no one else was able to try the mobile entry.
All in all, if I were not a convention attendee, I would’ve been back at the front desk complaining about value and would not return. However, since the convention committee had decided that this would be our new home, it appears that I will be returning.
Hopefully Marriott reads their reviews and addresses some of these issues.

Stayed here for one night to attend a concert at Levi Stadium. Room 1012 in the tower was great - spacious, updated interior and furnishings, super high ceilings, balcony with view to stadium and great america . If you check in during an event (concert, game), it’s worth using the bonvoy app and getting a mobile key. I arrived at 4pm on a Saturday and once I saw the huge check in line, I was so thankful I already had my
key. The M club lounge was big with plenty of tables and spaces to sit, good selection of snacks between services. Service from all staff was excellent. About 20/25 min walk to stadium; seems very safe since for any event there will be many people walking there and back.

Updated rooms and very quiet hotel. What made the stay great were the staff at the front desk as well as lounge and restaurant. We had folks in room next to us one night making a lot of noise and front desk handled it immediately. The restaurant food was very good and the staff there very friendly and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and getting around the area was very easy as it is close to 101 and 10 minutes from San Jose airport

As context, I stayed here with my whole family for 5 weeks last year and had a great experience. The staff was wonderful and always made us feel welcome, and I've recommended this property to coworkers ever since. I've even taken a few "staycations" here just for a night away with the family! After my last stay, though, I don't expect to be back and I will stop recommending it. As a Titanium Elite I definitely didn't feel welcome; they've instituted *two person* limits on the lounge, moved breakfast to the restaurant, and I couldn't even have free breakfast with my two kids without paying for one of them! The leadership team has clearly decided they do not care about the custom of family guests, and greatly devalued the (minimal) Marriott benefits for even the highest of elites. For a hotel of this caliber, with an excellent staff and a great location, it's emblematic of shortsighted strategy by the hotel leadership, nickel-and-diming guests and leaving them feeling cheated rather than welcomed.

Dear Mark, Thank you for staying with us and sharing this concern. We value all our Marriott Bonvoy Elite members and take into consideration all feedback we receive. The current Marriott Bonvoy policy you are referring to does specify how many adults are eligible for the breakfast benefit. We understand your point and frustration with the aspect relating to children staying in the same room and will take this under consideration for possible changes. We hope you will staying with us again in the future and we can regain your loyalty and satisfaction.

Nicely renovated hotel property. The hotel looks a little outdated from the outside, but well decorated and renovated on the inside. The staffs are very welcoming, and greeted us with smiles and all the information about the property. The M club is a nice addition to the hotel, it offers a variety different kinds of food for breakfast and dinner, in addition to drinks and snacks throughout the day. The hotel location is very convenient to the airport and other business establishments. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town!

Stayed here for 1 night as I had an early flight the next day from San Jose airport.
As one of the highest tiers Marriott elite, I can only assume I received one of the best rooms in the hotel.
However, the AC was so loud, it felt like an airplane engine was standing in our room. It was *extremely* loud (even with earplugs the noise was painful to the ears), and the loudest I've heard in a long time. The room, generally, felt very dated. I will not come back, and would recommend other hotels.
If you don't mind staying a bit further, I can recommend Hotel Nia, which is just 1 Marriott category higher, but much more pleasant.

No there is no microwave.
If you are asking about hotel construction at the Marriott Santa Clara, we were just there and I don't recall seeing any construction.
The construction was in the lobby, there was no noise.. wasn’t a bother for me.. not sore about airport shuttle..
Yes it is possible to walk - a straight walk down Great America Pkwy and then hang a right on Tasman - 20 minutes at least walking
