Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Hyatt Regency Santa Clara is lauded for its strategic location, offering easy access to the airport and Levi's Stadium, although guests have noted a scarcity of nearby conveniences. While the hotel's atmosphere bustles with energy in common areas, the charm seems to fade within the outdated and occasionally neglected rooms. Feedback on service quality varies, with commendations for the staff's friendliness but also grievances regarding slow responses. Rooms are a topic of debate; some guests find them ample and tidy, while others point to cleanliness concerns and maintenance issues.
The hotel's cleanliness generally receives praise, yet there are suggestions for improvement. Opinions on amenities are split, with certain guests appreciating them despite others criticizing the costs and limited dining options. The value proposition of the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara is frequently questioned, with guests feeling the pinch from high parking fees, meal prices, and additional charges.

Hotel's Favourite
I always have a good experience here. Rooms are clean, spacious, beds are very comfortable (which is rare for me and hotels), there's a good convenience store downstairs as well as a decent sushi restaurant, and an excellent bar. The location is great if you're flying in or out of SJC, less than 10 minutes away unless the traffic is bad (it's California, so it is bad frequently, I guess).

Expected higher quality based on price paid. Hilton across the street was 30-40% cheaper and free parking at same or better room quality. When I booked over the phone, the slightly cheaper rooms I was initially offered mysteriously disappeared DURING the phone call and I was stuck with a more expensive room. I had to ask 3 times to get the room cleaned and it didn't happen until 9PM. The only reason I stayed here was because my daughter had a dance competition at the convention center. Next time I will be staying right across the street at the Hilton and saving a few hundred dollars for a 2-day stay.

Hello- I went up for a weekend with my son to see a 49ers game. You can't beat the proximity to the stadium. However, the hotel was under renovation, which completely bottle necked the lobby with drunk people (and lots of weed smoking right outside) pretty much our entire stay. Which meant that every time we left my son had to walk through a crowd of drunk people and pot smoke. Expected at the game maybe, but not the hotel. The sushi restaurant is closed during renovations so you'll have to go off property for a good dinner. The wait for breakfast in the morning was over half an hour, and coffee at the market was over 20 minutes. Most of the elevators were run down, and did not display the floor numbers. Despite all of this, they charged me a completely inflated price for my king bed room with a rollout, which is why I'm being so picky in this review. If you want to charge an arm and a leg for people to come in and enjoy the game thats fine, but the service and property needs to match the price. It was a good memory for my son, and that's all that matters in the end.

We do regret and apologize that the renovations effected your view of our hotel. I paid over $300 for a room across the street from Levi's Stadium to attend the NFC Championship game on January 19, 2020. We arrived at around 11am. When we arrived, we were directed to park in their parking structure. The attendant at the parking structure turned us and several other hotel guests, saying the the parking structure was full, it didn't matter that we have reservations, we have to find another place to park. We drove around for an hour,. Finally we paid to park at a VTA lot and took the Light Rail to the game. When we got back to the area, we saw that they are now allowing people to park in the parking structure! After the game we ordered room service. It too 2 hours and the food was HORRIBLE! My "smoked tri-tip"sandwich was nothing more than sliced roast beef out of a package. The Creme Brulee wasn't creme brulee and it sucked!

Pretty loud in the room... could hear the woman next door coughing all night. No fan or venilation in the bathroom (which is such a personal pet peeve.) Also, bathroom doors were barn style and were loud and hard to close completely. Beds were unsupportive and lacked more than 2 thin sheets. Bathroom had 2 towels, 2 washcloths and 1 handtowel...skimpy.
Martine in the restaurant was excellent. The rest of the staff were pretty lacksidaisical.
Parking is a walk from the lobby entry. Food is overpriced but ok.
This hotel is always busy, but only because of its location to the stadium and the constant flood of dance conventions can they get away with the the quality.

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara for the NFC Championship game. Arrived at 12:30pm, and there were NO self parking or valet spaces for guests available, as the parking lot(s) for Hyatt were already full with stadium guests (not all hotel guests). Front desk management was less than helpful, and offered convention center parking pass, but did not guarantee a space there. The line for early check-in was 45 min wait, and we were not granted early check-in.
Paid for 2dbl bed Club Access rooms, but, be informed that there isn't a club floor level, there is a small room on the first floor with continental breakfast. In my opinion, it's not worth the extra fee to get club level. The construction in the lobby, along with the extra bars set up and the large amount of guests and randoms partying in the lobby was annoying for a 4* hotel experience. Pros were comfortable bed, and close walking distance to Levi's Stadium. Will not stay at this hotel again, as no guaranteed parking for guests is not acceptable. Stay farther from stadium and get a ride-share.

We were in town for a gymnastics event at the attached convention center. Simultaneously with a large teacher conference and cheer-leading competition. On top of that, on Saturday the 49er's had a play-off game across the street. Unfortunately the lobby and food services on property were all under construction or only marginally operational. The entire time we were there the lines for food and beverages were unacceptably too long and the staff was overwhelmed.

Dear Brian L. S, The Hyatt Regency Santa Clara was undergoing major renovation at the time of your visit as you've suggested and we sincerely apologize for some of the temporary operational changes you encountered at that time as well. Both the lobby and operational services have changed tremendously since your visit, so we do hope with all of the transformation you'll consider giving us another opportunity to restore your faith in Hyatt. We realize you have choices to consider, but if we can ever be of assistance please feel free to reach out directly. With best regards, Eron Hodges

Hotel was extremely busy for a Saturday without any major conventions or sports. Many people with families and kids running around in bathing suits from the pool in the lobby. Long check-in lines and wait times. Market to purchase food, drinks, or necessities not open 24 hours.
No valet available. Parking, don’t pay $25 for it. Just park. There’s a parking lot in front of the hotel that isn’t gated. Overflow parking is in back at the convention center parking garage. Garage is self-Park with security but no parking pass checks. Expect long walk from the garage around to the entrance to the hotel.
Rooms are large with full length desk against the window. Good views of Levi Stadium. Furnishings are well maintained. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom shower amenities are in larger containers attached to the wall.
Word of caution, there maybe large parties held in rooms/suites. Hotel did little to address noise issues.
A hotel with good location for conferences, conventions, or football but service was not up to Hyatt standards.

Dear AndyTLe, Thank you for sharing your experience at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara over the Memorial Day Weekend! We greatly appreciate you acknowledging the good views, location of the hotel and amenities within the rooms themselves. We obviously regret you had any issue with neighboring noise and that you felt the circumstance wasn't resolved to your satisfaction, that must have been frustrating and we apologize. As we work through the pandemic it is feedback such as yours that helps us to continue to experiment and think about new ways to deliver exceptional experiences in a changed environment and we are grateful for that. As a word of caution, the convention center parking lot behind the hotel does not allow for overnight parking or loitering and there are signs posted there. I raise this to ensure you are aware that vehicles have and may be subject to tow, which would be a major frustration and expense. The parking lot in front of the hotel will have operational gates in place toward the end of June and guests are encouraged to park there. Thank you so much again for your feedback! With best regards, Eron

What glam and elegance is here is left over from the original construction or the last major remodel of the rooms.
The entire lobby is torn up with a major remodel of the bar and restaurant area. It looks like the backstage area of a convention hall.
Very disappointing is what passes for room service. It's clearly coming from their Market facility, in a paper bag and disposable containers, with paper napkins and plastic utensils. It would be fine at a fast casual restaurant (which is essentially what their Market product is), but no where near what a Hyatt Regency should be.
All food service seems to have a service charge (don't kid yourself that it's a tip for the servers) and a 4% surcharge that is claimed to be to make up a livable wage deficit. Of course if they raised prices to include these fees they would be even more overpriced than they currently are.
Hyatt should really rebrand this as Hyatt House or one of the other budget brands. It's just not what it was in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Dear W0X0F, Thank you very much for all of your constructive feedback, it is very important to us! The Hyatt Regency Santa Clara is completing a major lobby renovation and we do hope you'll come to see and experience the new and exciting changes we are introducing. The in-room dining you had commented about is prepared in our main kitchen, which is where our in-room dining has always been prepared. The in-room dining menu itself structurally has remained the same for many years with a variety of seasonal offerings that have been introduced along with a more robust overnight menu for guests seeking a meal on the overnight. The hotel will provide traditional glass, china and silver to guests upon request, so if this is something you prefer we are happy to accommodate you. The purpose behind our change from traditional in-room dining is to improve our impact on the environment. All of the packaging we provide is 100% biodegradable, whereas the china, glass and silverware require water, gas and chemicals to clean and are not biodegradable. Thank you again for all of your feedback and we hope to have you back as our guest again at some point in the near future. With best regards, Eron Hodges

Imagine hopping off of a plane after a 6 hour flight and walking into a hotel that is covered in black tarps. It looks like a tornado came through. You get to the check in desk and ask if a room might be ready. YEs. Then you're told you will pay a $50 fee to move into the room that is ready. No one can explain WHY this fee is being charged. There is ZERO extra cost to move into the room early? RIP OFF. NEVER AGAIN. Lost me as a customer.

Dear susanbrat2n, Thank you for sharing your experience at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience with the lobby renovation you encountered at the time of arrival and hope you will reconsider and give us another opportunity at some point in the future. The $50 fee you had mentioned would have been applied to a suite upgrade being offered at check-in, since the room type you had secured was not available at the time of your arrival. In this instance an alternate room type was being proposed while your room booked was being serviced. We certainly regret if this was not clear and your feedback has been shared with our team so as to ensure our guest are well-informed of their options. With best regards, Eron Hodges
