I've stayed in historical hotels before. Hotel Santa Barbara is by far one of the best. Updated aesthetically and technologically while still maintaining its charm. Fabulous location - walk right on to State St.- look left, look right, it's all there. Convenient parking lot right out back. Respectable continental breakfast - great coffee (best "hotel" coffee in a long time)....

The real seller about this hotel is the location. We arrived late in Santa Barbara after a long drive and hadnt booked any accomodation. There was one room left (lucky us!) and it wasnt too expensive so we decided to stay for the night before leaving lunch time the next day. We stayed in July 2013 - the room we...

Please note that all guest rooms were completely re-decorated in November 2013. Each room now features new custom furniture, rooms now include a mini- fridge, keurig coffee maker and 2 robes. Photos of the upgraded new furnishings and décor are featured on Trip Advisor. Our continental breakfast consists of freshly baked pastries, muffins, bagels, hard boiled eggs, assorted cereal, instant...

Loved the location, the staff, lthe obby and breakfast. The room overlooked State Street but was very quiet due to excellent glazing. Wifi and free water in the room; what a pleasant contrast to the much more expensive Fess Parker!

The Hotel Santa Barbara is a great historic experience. The service and cleanings are excellent; rooms are a little quaint and small (but that's acceptable for a historic hotel) and decorated with a French touch; the breakfast and staff are great; location on mid-State provides walking access to great shopping and dining. A great stay for business and a quick...

Located Right on State Street, this is a great base for exploring Santa Barbara. Park your car with valet ($7) and you don't need it again unless you go out to the wineries. Love the quiet hours! Rooms are clean, bright and comfortable. Helpful staff. Nice continental breakfast included. Quirky elevator so you may find yourself using the stairs. AAA...

This hotel takes you back in time - and that's a good thing. Excellent service at the front desk and the parking valet. Very clean and well maintained older building on State Street, Santa Barbara's main street. Walk everywhere: the fabulous courthouse, the harbor, lots of good restaurants and shops. No disappointments.

Clean, well-maintained room with a spacious bathroom and comfortable bed. All I really require from a hotel, really. And despite the fact that it's located in the middle of the busiest street in downtown Santa Barbara, very quiet. A continental breakfast in the lobby included with the room. All staff friendly and efficient. Small downside: it has an antiquated elevator...

We appreciate your comments and please note that our Queen Rooms are "cozy" in size. Our King Rooms, Junior Suites and Rooms with 2 Queen Beds are larger in size. We are glad that you appreciated the charm of our vintage elevator. We do not promote our views at this Hotel as we are located downtown and views vary. As...

Is also immediately on the major historic Street in Santa Barbara filled with fantastic restaurants, great shopping and a wonderful experience for people watching. Importantly, the hotel has been recently read...
